I sat inside my apartment, plugging my phone into a small set of speakers. I turned on shuffle, going to make myself dinner after a long day at work. I smiled as I heard the all-too-familiar tune come in, which was Rixton's Me and My Broken Heart. I let myself hum the lyrics to the song, flipping through a book while pasta boiled on the stove.

"Why do you listen to that shit?" My roommate asked as she came in, setting her bags down.

"I like that shit," I said, keeping my eyes on the pages of the book. My roommate rolled her eyes, going into her room. Katie was my roommate, and we barely got along. We would bicker over little things like a plate left in the sink or the chairs not tucked in around the table. If I could, I would move out in a heartbeat, but I wasn't making enough money to live on my own. I was definitely looking for a new apartment though. I turned my song off, seeing a text from Gemma.

'Having a game night tonight...teams are going to be uneven so I really need you to come! :)' Gemma's text read.

'And what if I don't?' I sent teasingly.

'Boys will overpower the girls!' She sent.

'Good logic, I'll be there!' I sent, earning a smiley face from her. I ate my pasta, putting in a batch of chocolate chip cookies while I went to shower and get dressed. After showering, I changed into a black skirt with a simple black t-shirt with Jimi Hendrix printed on the front. I dried my hair, straightening it and pinning it back. I slipped on black sandals before I grabbed the snacks and my purse, then I left.

Once I arrived at Gemma's house, there were a couple of cars there. I went inside, being greeted by Gemma.

"Come in! Guys, Jackie is here!" Gemma said.

"I brought cookies," I said with a smile.

"Perfect!" Gemma said, grinning as she took the plate from my hands, "this is Jackie. That's Blake, that's Ryan, that's Taylor, and you remember Harry from the other day?" Blake was a short, blonde-haired girl. By first impression, she looked friendly. Ryan was a muscular guy with a short hair cut. Taylor looked of average build, and pretty much looked like your typical guy. Then there was Harry. He smirked towards me.

"Long time no see, Jacqueline," Harry said with a smirk.

"It's Jackie," I reminded, sitting down. Unfortunately, the only open seat was beside Harry, but I wasn't going to cause a scene.

"I like Jacqueline. Suits you better," Harry said. I nearly puked in my mouth. I hated the name Jacqueline. My mom named me after my father, who's name was Jack. He was an alcoholic cheater that only used my mother for sex and money. So yeah, I hated him and hated my name, but I wasn't going to dive into my father and his faults infront of all these people. Instead, I just didn't respond.

"I have Monoply and Life," Gemma said.

"Oh my god, Gem, this isn't 1963, let's play a modern game," Taylor said in his high voice. I cracked a smile as he said this, looking towards Gemma.

"Well, what would you consider a 'modern game'?" Gemma asked, grinning as she set the two boxes down.

"Truth or Dare, Have You Ever, 7 Minutes," Taylor said.

"Those games are for horny college students," Harry spoke up, and laughter erupted in the room. I hate to admit it, but he was right. This didn't change their minds though.

"Truth or Dare sounds good," Blake said as she caught her breath after laughing. Gemma smiled, sitting across from me. I held in my groan. I would rather not be spending my Friday playing Truth or Date, especially with Harry in the same room.
