"Are you in?"

That was the question Ryley had asked. Her friend was definitely considering this plan of hers, but wasn't really sure if it was right. As much as he liked her, the pilot wasn't completely bought by the cheerleader's proposition. It seemed a little too fast and a little too weird. Anyone else would say the same. However, it was pleasing to know that a fellow technopath such as herself had been down the road he was currently at. She explored her powers and knew exactly what she was capable of. Maybe taking this chance wasn't so bad.

"Yo Walker." Ryley called.

Ryan snapped out of his thoughts.

"Oh uh...I mean, it sounds cool. It's just-"

"You think everyone else will freak out?" Ryley guessed.

Ryan shrugged.

"I wasn't planning on exactly telling them." He admitted.

"It'd be best if you didn't. Knowing them, Harris might tell you no, Mark's gonna blame me, and Spyder might not know what to do." Ryley replied.

Ryan chuckled.

"Well, maybe I could-"

A sudden creek alerted the fifteen year old. He checked to see who it was. It revealed to be his older brother. He had his hand on the knob as he leaned against the door.

"Hey. Mom said that she's making chicken and potatoes." Mark informed.

Ryan nodded.

"Cool." He responded.

Ryan then faced back at Ryley. He thought that the sixteen year old was going to leave. Instead, he sat down beside him. The freshman looked back at him.

"Are you okay?" Mark asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Ryan reassured him.

"Look uh...I don't know what your going through. But, if I can help-"

"I'm fine, really. I just wanted to make sure you knew-"

"Well I know now, but I don't-"

"Know exactly-"

"Yeah." Mark ended the ongoing interruption.

"Yeah." Ryan agreed.

The former jock nodded.

"Hey, remember me? The person you were talking to before Ego Mc Ugly showed up?" Ryley spoke up.

Mark glared at her.

"Glad I saved him from talking to the queen of trash." He shot back.

"Seriously? Queen of trash? Please, you wouldn't know class from trash. Look at how you dress yourself." Ryley picked on.

Mark's mouth dropped to the floor as Ryan reacted the same way. The only difference was that he was trying not to laugh.

"But anyway, you should think about it. It could really help you." Ryley continued.

"Are you sure?" Ryan asked.

"Ry, if I wasn't sure, I wouldn't of told you about it." Ryley answered.

The pilot sighed.

"You have two days though. The machines will be at full capacity. Give me a call soon. I hope you say yes." Ryley finished.

She hung up. Ryan laid back on his bed as his older brother was a bit confused.

"What was that about?" Mark questioned him.

Ryan looked at him from his right.

"Nothing really. She just needed help for an experiment her cousin's doing. She has to list a few things about someone and have them take a test to see what their future would be like." He explained.

Mark laid across the bed in the other direction.

"That sounds like something nerdo would do." He said.

"It kinda does." Ryan concurred.

"Why did she ask you?" Mark inquired.

"I don't know. I guess I was her first choice." Ryan responded.

Mark smirked.

"Maybe you are." He stated.

His brother glanced at him and shook his head.

"Don't." Ryan said.

"Why not? It's fun." Mark told him.

"Yeah it is. Just like it's fun to see you and Georgia cuddling and making out when you 'think' you alone." Ryan spoke with a huge grin plastered on his face.

Mark shot up.

"How did you see that?" He posed.

"I didn't mean to. Me and Spyder had to get some paper and we walked in on you two. It was so adorable." Ryan teased.

Mark turned red.

"Whatever." He shook it off.

Ryan chuckled.

"Mmm hmm. Now get out, I gotta do some homework." Ryan pushed him away.

His older brother stuck out his tongue before leaving. Once the door closed, the fifteen year old sighed. He had became pretty good at lying. He took a few pointers from Spyder. For someone who obviously can't make out an equation, he's very skilled in other things outside of education. The offer had him interested, but he wasn't sure if that was necessarily good. Even though it was tempting, who's to say Ryley was right? Anything could happen at this point. Luckily, the pilot had two days to figure it out. It didn't seem like much time, but it wasn't like he was going to get an extension.
