It's been a few days since me and Kaci officially became friends, I still thank Chris in my head every time I see her. Kaci still acts like she hates me, hopefully it's an act, she's always glaring at me. I walked into homeroom and sat down next to Kaci, like always.

"Hey!"

"Hey"

I pulled out my note book and looked at the teacher.

"Ok, class, we are going to be doing something a little different today."

The whole class groaned, when the teacher said 'something different' he meant a project.

"Today you will spend your class time finding a partner and reading as much of animal farm as you can. This weekend you will have to write a book report about the book, that will be due on Monday."

I, eagerly, looked at Kaci and she glanced out of the corner of her eye. She moved her hand out from under her chin and let her head hang.

"You have to be kidding me." She whispered

I playfully grabbed my chest and put my hand to my forehead.

"I've been shot by a mean remark! I'm dying!"

I saw a small smile form on the edges of Kaci's lips, then she looked at me through the corner of her eyes, then the smile turned to a partial frown.

"What the heck?" I ask myself.

{KACI'S POV}

*Time skip*

I walk into the lunch room and flop down in front of Chris, then let out a sigh.

"What's wrong? Stalker problems?"

That was Chris's nickname for Bella.

"You have no idea."

Bella then walks into the lunch room and frowns at me a bit, I open my eyes a bit wider in shock. Bella never frowns. I drill holes in Bella until she's out of my sight, without realizing.

"What the heck Kaci, should I be calling you the stalker?"

"What do you mean?"

"Seriously, you've been staring holes into her this whole time."

"Oh, well, she was frowning and I was wondering why."

"Couldn't you just read her mind and find out in, like, 5 seconds?"

"That's the problem, I can't read her mind."

"What?!"

Our conversation was cut short by Bella coming over.

"Is it ok if I sit here?"

I scooted over, "Why is she even asking?" I wonder

"Of course." Chris answers for me

Bella plops down beside me, eats a little, then turns to me.

"When do you think you could come to my house?"

Chris looked at us, wide eyed, and brows arched. I silently cursed Bella for bringing it up.

"Maybe Friday or Saturday."

"Ok, I'll call you"

"Oh, but you don't have Kaci's number." Chris chimed in, "Give me your phone and I'll give it to you."

I shot Chris a murderous glance, but she just stuck her tounge out at me.

{BELLA'S POV}

*Time skip*

I called Kaci a few minutes ago and told her she could come over, I was really nervous and I didn't know why.

"Bella, your friend is here." My mom called

"Ok, tell her to come up."

A few moments later Kaci came into my room.

"Hey"

I was surprised, it wasn't her usual cold 'hey' this on had some emotion in it.

"HEY!" I practically yelled

Kaci came and sat down on the floor with me.

"You know how many stairs I had to climb to get here?"

"Ya sorry, forgot to tell you I lived on the 5th floor."

"Anyway are you ready to get started?"

"Ya-" I answered shyly

"So, what was one important point in the book to you?"

"About that-"

"You didn't read it did you?"

"Well, no"

Kaci practically jumped on me.

"WHAT?! But it's such a good book and it has so mush deep meaning in it!"

"I know, but I got bored reading it."

"WHAT?! I guess I'll have to tell you about it."

Kaci went on about a 5 to 10 minute rant about the book, I just zoned out.

"Ok, now let's get started on the report."

Kaci started writing it then said her fingers got tired and gave me the lap top. I read part of what she wrote, I tried to continue it but I couldn't.

"What am I supposed to write again?"

"WHAT?! Do I need to go back on my rant again?"

"No, please, god no! Got sit down quietly and I'll figure it out."

"Ok"

Kaci sat back down, and after a few moments we both burst out laughing. With out thinking I blurt out...

"This is why I love being your friend!"

We both got silent all a sudden and Kaci looked at me, with the same glare but softer.

"I like being your friend too."

After that we stayed in a comfortable silence and continued our report.

"Girls, are you almost done, dinners getting cold."

"Oh, yes mom, we're coming."

Me and Kaci ran down stairs, mostly me, and sat at the table.

"Thanks for dinner."

"You're welcome."

I don't know why I was so nervous and fidgety at the table, and when we were done I shoved Kaci back upstairs ad flopped onto my bed.

"What was that about?"

"I have no clue."

Kaci slumped against the door.

"God, how I wish I knew what you were thinking."

"What?"

"Nothing, just forget about it."

I shrugged it off and we got back to work. We finished around 10 o'clock.

"You can stay the night, if you want?"

"Ok, thanks"

I went to the bathroom then went to bed, a day of working was enough to tire anyone out. I was out like a light in not time.

{KACI'S POV}

I sat up and looked around, Bella was passed out, and I was uncomfortable. I stood up, stretched, wrote a note, then went out onto the balcony. I stared up at the moon.

"I've seen this sky billions of time, but for some reason it feels nicer and warmer than usual."

I climbed up on the railing.

"God, how I hate high places."

I looked back at Bella, smiled a bit.

"See you later."

I then jumped.
