POV: (Y/n): It had been roughly two weeks on that damned boat and had cost half the money from my last writ, but I was finally here. Vale. It's colorful landscapes and lively city was in stark contrast to the ashen wastelands and giant mushroom-filled coastlines of Vvardenfell, but it was good to be away from that place for once.
My name is (Y/n) (L/n) and I am a former member of the Morag Tong, the assassin's guild in Vvardenfell, Morrowind. I am on the run from them because I wanted more for my life other than writs of execution and meager amounts of currency for my efforts. Well that...and not all the people who got hits ordered on them deserved it. Don't get me wrong, the money was alright to begin with and they gave me somewhere to call my home that was far better than the ashlands and kwama mines and it felt good to give the scumbags of the province what they deserved but unfortunately those that actually warranted and deserved a writ of execution were few and far in between. Most people that were targeted were either innocent civilians that couldn't afford to pay a debt or rent, or ones that didn't want to sell their loyalty to one of the Great Houses. But I digress.
As I stepped off the boat, I bid the crew thank you and farewell as I began to walk the streets of Vale. It was beautiful and bustling with life! I checked my weapons to make sure they had faired well on the journey and immediately noticed my sword, Goldbrand, was running dangerously low on fire dust. Even though the blade was formidable on its own, it's flames were where it truly shined and without dust, it couldn't ignite. So I asked a couple people at a cafe and got pointed in the direction of a local dust store. I was relieved to find out it was legal to purchase and sell here, as dust trade was mostly outlawed in Morrowind and had to be smuggled, which is always a pain in the ass.
I arrived at the shop and as soon as I walked in, I was in awe of all the different kinds of dust that were available and in many forms too. Liquid, powered, crystal, all sorts of different dust lined the shelf. A kind elderly man at the register and I were the only ones in the store, but as I browsed more I noticed that there was also a small figure in a red and black skirt-like outfit there as well, and they had their hood up. I walked up to the cashier and payed for six dust crystals and I was about to walk out when a group of sharply dressed men walked in.
One in white who had a cane walked up and (albeit rather politely) demanded the dust. One of the other ones walked up as the others were raiding every last bit of dust and demanded the crystals I had just purchased and pulled out this red machete looking thing. I laughed. He didn't take too kindly to this and swung the weapon at me, to which I blocked with my left arm that was protected by my gauntlet, Wraithguard. When his blade shattered against it I took the opportunity to grab him by his suit tie and threw him through the stores window, which shattered as he went through. I was about to go against two more that were running towards me when we were suddenly stopped by another henchmen being thrown through another of the stores windows. I leapt through the window to keep from breaking anything else in the store and was met with the same figure I saw earlier. Only this time the hood was down to reveal a rather adorable young girl who smiled and waved at me, I smiled and waved back.
We both turned around to see the man in white again, clearly the ringleader, say "uuh, Get them" in a rather snarky tone. Then more henchmen ran at us. The girl drew a massive scythe seemingly out of nowhere (it was larger than she was) as I drew Goldbrand, quickly scraping one of the dust crystal against it's blade as it ignited. I was the first to move as two henchmen rushed at me. They both swung at me as I block one blade with Wraithguard and sliced through the other ones blade with Goldbrand. I struck him with it's hilt and he went down as I backhanded the other one with just enough force to knock him out cold with Wraithguard. I turned around to see the girl dispatching multiple henchmen in a flurry of spinning attacks and flips. It was erratic and somewhat graceful at the same time. One came up behind her but I swiftly kicked him in the face and sent him flying into a nearby wall before he could do anything. She then turned to me and smiled and said "Thanks! I'm Ruby Rose, what's your name?" and extended her hand to which I replied "I'm (Y/n) (L/n), nice to meet you, you're very skilled!". She smiled brightly and said "Thanks! You're really good too!" as we shook hands. Before we could continue the man in white said "Well Red and...whoever you are, I think we can agree it's been an eventful evening but I think it's time I made my exit". He then crushed his cigar with his cane and fired an explosive projectile from it's tip. Ruby then fired a blast from her scythe into the ground which launched her into the sky and dodged it and I merely used Goldbrand to deflect it into a nearby light post (whoops).
Ruby and I saw him climbing up a fire escape ladder and quickly followed him up as a large VTOL like plane thing (which I would later learn is called a "Bulkhead") stopped right in front of the man in white. He jumped onto it, laughed and threw a crystal right at our feet but as it exploded, an absolutely beautiful blonde woman appeared out of nowhere and shielded us from the blast using some sort of purple magic. The man in white retreated to the cockpit of the aircraft and a figure in a red dress (with very pretty slender legs) took his spot. The sleeves of the dress lit up and ignited as the figure launched fireballs at us that would even make some of the Telvanni mages I fought back in Morrowind jealous. Ruby and I jumped to avoid it and the blonde woman did a cartwheel, to which I was disappointed to find that when I tried to sneak a peek up her skirt, she was wearing pantyhose. The figure and the blonde then had somewhat of a duel that involves a lot of levitating cement shards. Ruby stabbed her scythe into the ground and started shooting at the Bulkhead as I launched fireballs from Goldbrand at the aircraft. The figure in red, which I had just noticed had blazing amber eyes, blocked all of our blasts and as the figure and I made eye contact, I could have sworn I saw a smirk as the door to the Bulkhead closed and it flew away.
Afterwards Ruby was in awe of the pretty blonde woman (almost as much as I was) and referred to her as a "Huntress" then proceeded to ask her for an autograph. I then looked at the beautiful blonde and said "Huntress? What is that?". She turned to look at both of us and looked absolutely furious! Her eyes, which were a lovely green, felt like they were beaming right through us! Ruby and I looked at each other and gulped as the blonde demanded we follow her.
