With their hands intertwined and both their cheeks rosy and noses slightly red from the cold, conversation flowed smoothly between the young duo who had just met. They talked more about what the other's interests were. Alana found out that Cole had a passion for photography and he still had a spark for acting. Cole discovered that Alana liked writing and painting, and that she also loved dogs.
"This is my street." Alana stated, hands still intertwined with Cole's, turning the corner onto the street where her apartment was situated. Cole looked around, and realised that he also lived on this street and smiled widely at Alana, who furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
"This is my street too!," Cole exclaimed and Alana's eyes widened and she also smiled because she had suddenly thought about the whole situation and how cliché it was. Holding hands and walking in the snow, feeling a strong connection to the other within only an hour of meeting, and living on the same street. "who knows, we could live in the same building!" Cole continued, snapping Alana out of her thoughts.
Alana simply smiled and chuckled lightly in return. Cole looked up at the building at which Alana had come to a halt at, and smirked at Alana.
She didn't notice the young man's facial expression and stated, "Well this is my stop!". Cole chuckled at how oblivious Alana was, but nevertheless, he found the trait rather endearing. Cole started to walk inside the building and Alana scrunched up her face, trying to figure out what was happening and asked, "What are you doing?". Cole threw his head back and laughed loudly, making people who were passing by give them puzzled looks.
"I'm going to my apartment, you dimwit," Cole replied, laughing again at Alana's face. "you really are quite the daft person for someone who goes to one of the most prestigious schools in the world."
"Shut up, dweeb." Alana shot back, following Cole into the building.
Cole scoffed, "Dweeb?", Alana attempted to glare at him and miserably failed, and ended snorting and giggling. He put his hands up in surrender while offering a sheepish smile and said, "I like that word."
"Well, good, because I'm going to be calling you that a lot." Alana muttered, not even realising that she had said it, but Cole had heard her crystal clear and started smiling like an idiot because he couldn't believe that the gorgeous girl with the hazel eyes, long, flowing dark hair, a dimpled smile and endearing personality in front of him wanted to see him again.
"How 'bout I walk you to your apartment then?" Cole asked Alana who was busy rubbing her hands together to try and get rid of the cold. He hoped he didn't come across as creepy.
She looked up at Cole who smiled warmly down at her. "I'm pretty sure I would be able to walk myself to my own apartment, but I guess you're alright so why not.", she joked as she took his hand into her's again and started to pull him along to where her home was. When they got to her apartment, the two smiled at each, shared a brief hug, bid their goodbyes, Cole leaving a chaste kiss to Alana's cheek, making her cheeks fire up, and promised to see each other in the near future.
