Sunlight streamed into Alana's apartment and cars beeped on the streets below. This in itself was an alarm clock. Alana knew that every day, at around 6 o'clock in the morning, the roads would start to get busy on the New York streets and no matter what month, season or day, the sunshine would always find a way into the apartment. Alana groaned and sleepily reached for her glasses on her bedside table, her feet swinging out of the bed and hitting the floor below. A yawn escaped her mouth as Alana heaved herself out of her bed and slowly made her way to the kitchen, whilst at the same time stretching her muscles and cracking her knuckles and some other bones in the process.

This was a daily routine. 6 o'clock she would wake up, then grab a glass of water whilst choosing the clothes she would wear for the rest of the day. After that was done, Alana would go to the bathroom to shower and all the things she normally did in her routine. Breakfast was the hardest choice of the day, Alana was never sure if she wanted a home-made breakfast or quick coffee from Starbucks or a bagel from the local bakery.

Today, Alana decided on a bagel. She collected her things as well as her books for the day's classes and her worn and torn violin case, hoping for some practice in the Juilliard practice rooms. Double checking that she had everything, Alana stepped out of her apartment and turned to lock the door.

During this process, she managed to drop her phone, being the klutz she is, but before she could manage to pick it up, she saw a large hand grab the phone and hand it back to her. About to say thank you, and sorry, she glanced up to meet the person's eyes and smiled in surprise as she saw his teasing, green eyes.

"I believe you must've dropped this, m'lady," Cole said in a posh voice, bowing down in front of Alana. The girl giggled, "Why thank you, kind sir," as she curtseyed and accepted the phone that Cole was holding in front of him.

"So, sunshine," Cole said as Alana smiled and furrowed her eyebrows at the nickname, "where are you off to this morning?" 'Sunshine,' Alana thought to herself, 'cute.'

"I'm off to the bakery on third street-"

"The one with the really good bagels?"

Alana laughed, "Yes, the one with the really good bagels. But funnily enough, I'm actually going there to get one of their bagels!" Cole's eyes lit up and he thought to himself, 'how much better could this girl get? She likes bagels!'

"You mind if I take a trip down there with you? I'm actually craving some of that bagel goodness." Cole looked down at the girl with a puppy face, and Alana was sure that her insides were twisting in admiration.

"Let me think," she finally said looking up at Cole and smirked, "I was more of a Zack girl to be honest, but I'll let it slide.", Cole gasped dramatically and simply replied, "You better take that back, sunshine,"

"Or what, sunshine? What are you going to do?", Alana mocked Cole. He took a step closer so Alana was forced to step back as far as she could, with her books and instrument on her back.

"I was wondering," Cole mused, "are you ticklish?"

"Actually," Alana started, "I got mixed up between Zack and Cody. I've got to say, from the few times that watched Suite Life, Cody was my personal favourite. It's all coming back now. Yes, sorry for the misunderstanding."

Cole smirked and said, "Hm... I'll let you off this time. Next time, if there is one, if you say that you like Dylan better, I probably won't be so nice."

Alana chuckled at their immaturity, despite the fact they were both teenagers. "Alright, Sprouse, we better get a move on before the bakery gets too crowed for my personal liking."

"Well, sunshine, what are we still standing here for? Let's go," Cole stated as he held out his hand for Alana to take. She looked at it for a second and smiled back at him as a slight blush found its way to her cheeks.

"You look cute when you blush," that very sentence just made the poor girl's cheeks turn a brighter shade of pink.
