A colony of Noiverns rest in a cave, hanging by the ceiling, their wings wrapping around themselves like blankets. It is day time outside, which is when this colony sleeps. A forest sits just outside the dark, damp cave.
A Noivern inside the cave is awoken when the sound of crying hits its massive ears. At first, the Noivern ignores the cries and tries to drift back into slumber. Alas, the cries are too distracting. The Noivern finally decides that he should find the source of the crying to see if he can cease the noise. He jumps down from the cave ceiling and slumps out into the forest, the other Noiverns stirring as the cries continue.
The Noivern groans as the sunlight hits his eyes, his tired legs and wings leading him through the forest. He becomes confused and surprised to find... a human infant? What's a human... no, an infant doing in the middle of the forest?
The infant has a pink blanket wrapped around it, a note sitting in the fold of the blanket. The Noivern, being a wild Pokemon, has no idea how to read the words that were scribbled down so hastily by whoever wrote it. Despite this, his instincts were telling him that he shouldn't just leave the child out here to die. The human child opens its eyes, its crying stopping when it sees the creature above it. The Noivern finally made his decision. Not caring what the other Noiverns would think, he picks up the infant by the blanket and hurries back to the cave, gently setting it down on the rocky floor.
The Noiverns in the cave, awake by now, look at the infant that the other Noivern has brought into their lair. Some glare while others are perplexed. A Noivern, who was bigger than the rest, stepped forward to see the infant for himself. He has a scar over his left eye and even more scars on his wings and body, which makes him look even more intimidating. The Noiverns clear a path for him, waiting for his response to this child.
Suddenly, he lifts his leg up and swiftly brings it down, aiming to kill the infant. The Noivern who had brought this child in quickly shields the child with his wings, wincing and gritting his teeth when the huge Noivern's strength met his. The human begins to cry again, scared by the massive Noivern's actions. Some Noiverns cheer while others look on in horror. "Why do you protect this human?" the Noivern booms, glaring down him.
"It's just a child! Surely it can do no harm!" the Noivern replies, shaking under the weight of the Noivern that is much bigger than him. To the human, the Noiverns were just making growls and shrieks, making it even more scared because it could not understand what was going on.
"Have you forgotten who stole my eye, you fool?" the Noivern booms, pushing down even harder on the Noivern that was protecting the human child. "If you really wish to raise this creature, then you are not welcome in this colony. Do you really want to throw away everything you've known just for some stupid human child?"
Suddenly, the Noivern protecting the human uses Dragon Pulse to shoot the other Noivern back, causing the Noivern to cry out in pain. He quickly picks the child back up and flies out of the cave while the other Noiverns are distracted with making sure that the Noivern that was shot was okay. He growls in frustration, turning to go back into the depths of the cave.
The Noivern lands in an empty cave that was just big enough for him and the human. He gently set it down, but then starts to think... What do human infants eat? He would assume milk like any other baby, but he couldn't be sure. He knew that there was a farm nearby, but he didn't want to leave the crying child alone. He had no choice but to take the baby with him, walking to the farm that had Miltanks and Tauros.
The Noivern easily climbs over the small wooden fence of the enclosure, some Miltanks looking on in confusion at the Noivern carrying the baby. A female Miltank steps forward, looking at the human baby then looking at the Noivern. She seems to understand and she gives the Noivern a bottle of Moo Moo Milk with a rubber teat. The Noivern is a little surprised at this, but nonetheless, he accepts the bottle and nods a thank you to the Miltank before heading back to the cave.
The Noivern gently cradles the baby with one wing, and starts to feed it with the other. The child's crying is ceased as it drinks the milk from the bottle, soon drinking every last drop. The Noivern sighed, realizing what he has gotten himself into, but he is determined to make sure that this child lives a happy, healthy life.
