It's been 9 months since the monsters have left the Underground. Since the rejoined the humans, they have been met with mixed reactions. While some people have embraced monster kind and enjoy the integration of species, while others hate and despise them entirely, for numerous reasons. Some hate them because they are different, some because they think their way of life will be destroyed by newcomers, then there are the ones who still resent for the war so many years ago even though the humans started it. And of course, there are the ones who don't really care either way. But this tale will follow one human. One that has loved monsters all his life and was ecstatic to learn of the fact that the monsters were freed. But that was months ago. Since then, he has had some hard times. But that is for another time.
You wake up at 4 a.m. like always. You get off your couch, which is also your bed since you can't actually afford an actual bed. You walk into you poorly managed and look at yourself in the mirror. Your H/L H/C is messy, like always. You then grab your toothbrush and toothpaste and begin brushing your teeth. Once you finish, you exit your bathroom and enter your kitchen, if you could even call it that. It's just a corner of your desolate hotel room, with a counter, fridge, sink, and cabinets that are almost always empty. You walk to your fridge and take out some F/D. You pour yourself a glass and start drinking. You walk back to your couch and grab your phone. You see that you got a text from your job saying you were fired. You stare at the text sadly, wondering what kind of person fires someone over text and what you're going to do for a job now. You see the time is now 4:08 so decide to take a walk outside. You walk for a few blocks, not really caring where you're going. You see the town hall for your darkened city. You chuckle to yourself as remember that your city's name is Upen. It's made funnier when said with the country name after it, so it becomes Upen, Impor. You keep walking for a bit. When you check your phone and see it's now 5: 56. You didn't realize you had been walking that long and you look towards the sky and see that the sun is starting to peek out from beyond the horizon. You decide that you should walk around town now that it's starting to get light outside, so you can see if any place is hiring. You'll check the online and in the newspaper later if there aren't any in town. You walk from store to restaurant to boutique, not finding anyplace that's hiring. You start giving up hope when you see there's a new building open. You know it hasn't been there for long, since you were around this part of the city about 3 weeks ago. You walk up to it so you can read the name. As you approach, you take in the dark purple walls with the black spider web designs on the walls. It's only when you're right outside the building that you see the name of it is Muffet's Bakery. The fancy font of it made it hard to read at a distance. You see that the door isn't clear like almost every other business establishment you've ever seen. Instead, it looks like the walls, just with the colors inverted, probably to help distinguish it from the walls. You push the door open, since it's one of those doors that can be pushed open from either side. After you enter, the door closes on its own. The place is dark, so you think that it's not actually open yet. You check your phone and see that it's 7 exactly. You go to leave when you notice the overall decoration of the place. You see that the walls are painted a darker shade of purple than the outside walls with the floor and ceiling painted black with white webs painted along them. Along the walls and in some of the corners, you see realistic looking spider webs. The tables themselves are all painted a brighter purple with a black web painted in the middle of each. You see some booths lined the walls. The main source of light is from the few windows there are, but even with the lights on the ceiling, it is still really dark. This, combined with the aesthetics makes the whole place seems like a spiders' cave. You feel like that was intentional, so either the owner is a big fan of spiders, or they themselves are some kind of spider monster. You don't realize until your there that you were walking up to the counter. There is a noise coming from behind you so you turn to the door but see nothing there. You then hear a giggle coming from the counter behind you. You slowly turn around and see a figure standing on the other side of the counter, even though you didn't see them the first time. The figure is in the shadows a bit so you can't see them, just their silhouette. They seem to have 6 arms and a weird shaped head. You're now sure that this is owned by a spider monster and not a human who loves spiders. Then the figure moves out from the shadows and you can see what they look like.
Hay everyone. How's it hanging? You know, besides the story on the cliff there. I love doing this. I see why actual authors do it, it's fun. I want to know what you all think, so comment please. Also, whatever I said about my MLP x reader, disregard. I was just in the mood to write at the time I wrote it. But please let me know on the topic of having an ask book for me and my various ocs. Anyways, since I don't have anything really else to talk about:
