The Beginning

It was beautiful April morning, pure white clouds in a bright blue sky with a slight chill in the air. It was 9:57 in the morning with 4th period just starting before the principal came on the loudspeaker" Teachers lock your doors! This is not a drill, all students get to your rooms and st-". He was brutally interrupted by a stomach-turning scream and gunfire in the background.  The class was completely silent, with everyone staring wide-eyed with fear and confusion. For some odd reason, I felt extremely calm despite the panic that began to spread among my classmates.  Mrs.Argen pushed some of the desks in front of the door while the guys placed the remaining desks on top of each other. Once the door was barricaded to the best of our abilities everyone stayed huddled together in the back of the room. We were on the fourth floor so we could hear the screams and gunfire raging below us. The classroom was no longer quiet, with people crying for their mother and begging not to die. I still wasn't afraid, the instinct to protect everyone no matter the cost, outweighed any fear I might have. My best friend Angel was clinging to me, crying into my breasts. I wrapped her in a big hug, and softly but reassuringly whispered"Shhh, you know I'd never let anything happen to you. Put your trust in me and I will protect you". I look at the door, determined to protect my friend no matter the cost.

It seemed like hours had gone by, we had no idea how long it was when our principal was murdered over the loudspeakers. No one dared touch their phones as we clung to each other and hoped we would be spared. Soon the worst sound imaginable was at our door. "OPEN THE DOOR!!!" Everyone began crying harder with hysterical cries begging to live or at least let it end quickly. Even Mrs.Argen was sobbing, but I still didn't make a sound. My pulse was quickening and fear was beginning to slither its way into my heart but Angel was now sobbing louder into my breasts, reminding me I had to protect her. Biting my lip I force my racing mind to calm down enough to think. I noticed a few desks that weren't against the door, I softly whispered to a fellow classmate, "Blake, if you can get a few of the guys to push the desks around everyone as a barrier, I'll use the chairs to enforce the door." With a slight nod, he manages to get a few other boys to join him, I've already passed Angel onto the teacher as I began grabbing the chairs and shoving them against other desks. I turn around as I see the desks in place, but something catches my attention by the door but I was too late.

Pain shot throughout my whole body as the desks and chairs sned me flying across the room with half my body shoved through the window. Gasping for air I try to process what just happened but an extreme wave of dizziness floods my head. I nearly pass out until my Angel screams my name. The panic in her voice wakes me up enough to try and pull free, but in my dizzy induced state I end up pushing myself further out the window. Completely exhausted I begin falling to the ground with my classmates screaming in the background as I blackout.

Two soldiers quickly grabbed her ankles and beging pulling her back in. " Gentle with her you fools!  She's hurt enough, you could cause more injury! Now ease her onto the ground and have the doctor examine her." I turn my attention to the classroom as I smirk at the cowering children in the back. Thinking to myself " I guess they can't help but think I'll kill them. Might as well have some fun while I'm here." I toss the stray desks and chairs in my way as I walk over to the students. I bend over and flash a gentle smile at the girls as their bodies betray them in such a tense moment, their cheeks blush a deep red. I wink as I straighten up, after glaring down at the boys. "I'm not interested in any of you, just that one." I point over to the unconscious, injured girl laying on the ground.

My heads throbbing and I can't feel my body as I open my eyes. The darkness of the room soothes some of the pain in my head. I turned my head to see my classmates still in the back of the room but the girls are all red as the guys shift uncomfortably. A man in a military uniform of some sort paces across the room with a worried look on his face. I look away and I notice that there was another man with a red cross on his chest, examining my almost naked body. Adrenalin and anger soared through my body as I manage to land a kick on his chest. Falling back onto his butt I somehow manage to stand up and grabs his arm pulling him up and twisting it behind his back till he screams in pain until I hear a satisfying crack. I shover him into the door but I collapse to my knees, the pain being too much for me to handle. The man that was pacing rushes over to me, I close my eyes preparing for a kick or to be shot at but instead I feel soft and firms arms wrapping around me, opening my eyes I watch as this man picks me up and holds me in his arms, bridal style. I softly groan as he holds me, he doesn't look at me once instead, he's giving the other soldiers orders. "Quick rearrange for a spot that's more comfortable for Her Majesty! And get a nurse! Make sure she brings comfortable clothing as well! We can not disgrace our Queen and let her stay half nude! Move it maggots!!" He barks orders as he holds me close to his chest, almost as if he's trying to protect me. I was curious about who he was talking about, "Her Majesty? Queen? What in the bloody hell is happening and why haven't they killed us yet? Who is this"Queen"  and what she has to do with a school full of students and teachers?  Where is this man taking me and why is he holding me so gently?" I try to look up at him but the lights of the hallway make my head pound so much I pass out.

Half an hour later

I begin to wake up but with the lights still on I keep my eyes closed. I feel around with my hands and realize I have been laid down on something, it's surprisingly comfortable and super soft. I softly sigh as my body begins relaxing again, I'm almost asleep again but someone has started to undress me. Panicking I open my eyes ready to fight whoever was touching me. I notice a woman looking down at me as she softly touches my forehead. Her hand was soft and small, she gently stroked my cheek and I relaxed a little. She shook her head" Rest child, I am here to help you get better. We are not here to harm anyone. Sadly you getting hurt was an unfortunate and careless mistake. You'll be up in no time but you need to rest." She softly soothed my hair and I passed out from all the comfort surrounding me.

Another Half Hour

The next time I wake up, I'm able to open my eyes without pain. I sit up and stretch easily, all the tight muscles and pain were gone. I look around and notice I was in the nurse's office, laying on top of a comfortable cot and fluffy blankets laying on top of me. Despite the situation, a giggle escapes my lips as I sit on the edge of the bed when the man in uniform came into the room. "It's good to see you're doing much better Your Highness". Bending at his waist he bows in respect. "N-no I think you are mistaken, I am not royalty. I'm just a girl in high school trying to pass her classes." I look at this man as he straightens up, walking towards me with such respect and excellent posture. He kneels down in front of me, so close I can feel the warmth radiating off him as he looks me straight in the eyes. "We know exactly who you are, you're Scarlett Young. The quiet, mysterious girl whos only friend is Angel McMillian. The anonymous author of "How To Over Throw The Government" on the dark web 4 years ago.  Almost everything you wrote, is about to come true. We've finally reached the point where we were ready for you, although we didn't plan on meeting you in such a brutal way."  I scoot further back on the cot completely scared out of my mind. "I didn't think anyone would find that book! I made sure I buried it deep within the dark web! I wasn't even serious, it was just something I wrote when I was in a dark place! How is this even possible!? And who's this "We" you're talking about!? What the hell is going to happen!?"Smiling at all the questions and my obvious frustration he stands and holds out his hand, "Come with me and I will show you the world you've been dying to make a reality. Your life will never be the same and you will never have to be alone in your desires for a better world."
