"HEY KID, WE could use some of your magic touch down here," Hawkeyes voice called through her comm, making Mal roll her eyes.
"I'm on my way birdbrain," Mal shot back with a grin, before launching herself off of the roof with no hesitation. Flying was still relatively new to her; Mal knew that she could fall from great heights and use her powers to avoid getting hurt, but she hadn't discovered flying until about seven months ago. It was by accident, too – falling off of a flying Helicarrier can really make a person realize what they can do.
Landing rather gracelessly next to Natasha (she stumbled and almost fell directly on her face), Mal was relieved when she saw Thor. She still felt guilty for letting him plummet in that cell, but seeing that he was okay made her feel just a little better. Natasha glanced at the young girl besides her, eyes quickly sweeping over her for injuries. She saw the forming bruise around her neck and narrowed her eyes at it. Mal barely felt it, besides the fact that it slightly ached and she knew that a bruise would be forming from where the Chitauri had grabbed her, but bruises would heal.
Everyone's attention was suddenly directed to the sound of a motorcycle puttering along. Bruce slowly brought it to a slow stop, before stepping off of the bike. Mal couldn't help but grin as they all walked towards him.
"So, this all seems horrible." Bruce said jokingly, meeting them in the middle. Natasha and Mal glanced at each other.
"We've seen worse." Natasha said slowly, raising an eyebrow slightly.
"Sorry about that." Bruce said apologetically, looking almost guilty. Mal shrugged, the grin still on her face.
"We could use a little worse." She commented, nodding slightly at Bruce. Looking at the young girl, he couldn't help but let a small smile of his own stretch across his lips.
"Stark, we got Banner, just like you said." Steve said into the comm, talking to Tony.
"Tell him to suit up. I'm bringing the party to you." Tony replied, and everyone looked a each other in confusion. Suddenly, Tony came flying around the corner at the opposite end of the street, a giant Chitauri Leviathan following behind him.
"I don't see how that's a party." Natasha said uncertainly, looking warily at the giant monster.
"Remind me to never go to one of Tony's parties." Mal said, her eyes glowing green again in anticipation of the incoming creature. The thing had large, sharp teeth, and it roared as it chased after Tony.
"Doctor Banner," Steve said, stepping closer to Bruce. "Now might be a really good time for you to get angry." Bruce was already walking towards the creature who was barreling directly at them.
