"Crap!" Y/N said as she looked at the time. She was gonna be late for her
A young girl that held the height of (Y/H) had just came back from a quick 15 minute bike ride that started at her distant neighbors house.
Her front basket of the bicycle was full of jars of jam. (Favorite jam) that is. Her tan, knee length skirt, stood out in the snowy landscape along with her black legging that she usually wore underneath as a sign of modesty. A fluffy brown jacket was wrapped around her body whilst a golden scarf, her neck. She peddled quickly, knowing 6:00 o'clock p.m. was her curfew during winter hours due to the seasonal lighting per day.
It was a slightly icy path, dangerous to bike down, but nothing she isn't used to. A smile crosses her cold, blushed face as she spots her house in the near distance. The cold wind quickly raced against her skin as she peddled faster and faster towards her beloved destination.
Finally riding up the road to the drive way, she had placed her bike against the garage door while grabbing and carrying the box of jam to her front door. Using her free (S/C) pinkie finger, she wrapped it around the door knob and carefully opened it, trying not to drop the box she held in the process.
It was dark in the house she calls home, only a scented candle lit the rooms entrance. She smiled as she continued to the kitchen, placing the box on the counter, freeing her arms from the slight heaviness of it. She began taking off her shoes until a sound of shattering glass caught her attention from one of the rooms down the hall.
Usually the house isn't this quiet. This left her with an unsettling curiosity to check what could have made such a noise. She carefully walked towards the room she assumed the noise came from. She opened the door to the dark room, a smell of iron had filled the air, but this was a smell she was all to familiar with. She hesitantly turned on the lights only fearing for the worst, which in her case had expectedly been the result.
Blood. It was every where. It covered the cottage yellow carpet and the whitely painted walls. What horrified her the most was where it had all came from. Her father. His arms spread wide with a open tare in his chest. Water had broken through her eyes as giant tears flooded down her (S/C) face.
She jogged to her father, tripping over her own feet, falling to her knees right next to him. She was scared, frantic, not understanding who could have done all this. To say the least she was petrified in her position, but that was until something grabbed her arm. More like someone.
Her mind snapped back to reality and she looked at the owner of the hand, only to reveal it was her own parent. He was barely alive, his grip as weak as a new born infants..
She covered her mouth with her free hand in joy that he was still alive.... for now.
"Papa, what happened?!" She said trying to keep her voice as calm as possible, not wanting to make aware of her presence to the thing who had done this. That's if they are still somewhere in the house.
"(Y)-(Y/N)...... go into m-my office and under the my desk you w-will find a letter. Take it and go to Capulet City." He said, tugging on her sleeve. "But papa, you're wounded, I can't just leave you, not to mention I've never left the town!" She said, tears dripping on her fathers once white shirt. "(Y/N) please *cough* *cough*"." He spits up blood, quickly wiping it away while trying to finish what he must say. "The letter has a note attached to it. It will instruct you on where you need to go." He says while he sits up slightly removing a white crystal necklace that was held by a black string.
(Readers P.O.V.)
"P-papa. That's moms necklace isn't it? The wishing rock she found in her favorite place." I said amazed by how it glows by the moonlight that hits it only so slightly. "Yes and now it's yours. It'll protect you from...... from them." He says while falling back hard after placing the necklace over my head and around my neck. "Please hurry and go before *cough* it comes back." He says releasing his hands from me. "What comes back? Wait where's (B/N)?! Is he okay?" I say in panic. That's when I hear a loud crash from the front of the house.
"It's back." My dad whispers from under his breath. "Go." He continues trying to push me away with weak shoves. "But (B/N)?! Where is he?" I said quietly trying to get an answer. "He was taken, that's why I need you to survive this and go to Capulet city to save him. Save this town, no..... save the people of this world." He says cupping his hand onto my face. "You look so much like your mother.." He says while his eyes soften. My tears had dropped from my eyes onto his face in mere seconds after he said that. "I love you Daddy." I said cringing at my childhood name for him, but at this point I could care less. "I love you to sweetheart." He says, eyes turning pale and dead as they close shut.... forever. "Dad? Dad?! Dad!!" I said sobbing. I kneel there for 3 more minutes tell I heard a low growl from outside the broken window. I quickly wipe my tears away and run to the office. As I do, I check under the desk, my heart set calm as I see the letter and note. I quickly grab both and sprint to my room. I grabbed a brown leather satchel and began to stuff items in it that were necessary. After 2 minutes of that I threw on my boots and crept through the house. It was dark. I heard whispers, not human though. I peaked into the living room, only to see tall-stature creatures grumbling to themselves while sneaking around looking for something. I almost screamed. I didn't wanna have my cover blown since the door was 7ft away, but that all came to a loop when I move a bit to much and a painting moved causing a groaning creak. I froze. My body went cold. I only had this one chance and had to time it as perfect as possible. The creatures hideous heads turn to me. They quickly dart at me, but before either could reach, I pulled down a large wooden book shelf with all my strength, to block their ways for at least 10 seconds as I run outside.
I can't fight, I'm athletic but not strong in the slightest, I know that, but I can cause a distraction. I jumped on my bike ignoring my helmet in the process. I then start peddling down the driveway and onto the road. So far everything was going smoothly considering the adrenaline running through my body. That was until I heard a explosion behind me. Everything turned into slow motion as I twist my head to look towards the noise. The house had erupted into flames as wooden pieces flew through the sky. My thoughts travel back to the scented candle near the kitchen and living room. It must have fallen during my escape and caught the gas stove on fire. I was scared, terrified. I didn't wish for any of this to happen. Never would, but I still got it for some reason. In a way i'm glad this didn't happen to anyone else in the world, they don't need to suffer. I turn my head back to pay attention more, but my bike wheel gives out and I soon tumble on the road about 3 miles into the escape ride. I quickly got up ignoring the pain and began sprinting down the long country road. I didn't know if the creatures were behind me but I didn't wanna risk it any way possible. I then see my shadow on the icy ground. A car must have stopped behind me or something. I turn my head only to see an old, blue pickup truck. It's windows rolled down to reveal an elderly women. "Y'all pretty crazy for walking in weather as cold as this one. Where ya head'in?" She says speaking over the rushing wind. I get close to the car window so she could hear me better.
"I'm heading to Capulet city." I said, exhaustion finally taking control of my body. "Y'all be insane walking there like this. It's at least a 7 hour drive from here. Probably take ya days to get there by foot, that is if y'all don't die on the way." She chuckles at her small joke. "How 'bout this, I'm heading through Capulet myself. Gotta take these chickens in the back to a breed'in farm. I can drop ya off there since it ain't out of my way." She says unlocking the doors so I can hop in. I smile and thank her for her help. "Thank you. It's been a long day for me and this just made it a little better." I say while yawning. "Don't ya worry about it. Now you seem tired, I'll wake you when we are almost there okay?" She says while driving on the road again. I nod in agreement while everything in my vision turns black. Sleep takes me over.
To be continued....
