Chapter two: finally speaking

L's pov

I spoke, it was the first time I've said anything since the Avengers saved me but it was in Russian so I didn't think anyone would understand me.

"Спасибо" ( thank you) . I said softly while sitting up "for......taking..me in" I said in English, my English was rusty but clear enough and everyone stared at me in chock. Tony was the first to speak of course, breaking the silence.

"And he finally speaks" he laughed softly causing the others to chuckle. I only smiled and looked at Steve who was smiling widely at me then hugged me tightly. Whispering in my ear that my voice was beautiful. He pulled away and we both joined the others in the kitchen for breakfast.

Steve's pov

He spoke! He finally spoke! And gosh was his voice beautiful. Once we went to the kitchen Bruce and Natasha began to cook for us all. Everyone broke out Into small conversations. I was silent though and so was L, I was hugging him from behind and we just listened.

Soon enough breakfast was ready everyone ate...well everyone Besides L. And it worries me, since we had rescued him, he barely ate. Once a week at the most but he still looked healthy. I sighed to myself when L went back to his room, I knew he felt odd being the only one no eating but any time I would ask him about it he wouldn't answer me. I finished my meal and put my plate in the sink and went to L's room and knocked.

After a few minutes of nothing he answered.

"It's Open" He said softly and I opened the door to his room.

"You ok love?.." I asked as I walked over to his bed where he was laying under the covers. He mumbled and I sighed "What's wrong L?"

"Why do you love me?" He suddenly asked me after a long silence. I was taken back and I didn't know how to answer him.

Tony's pov

L had left the kitchen when everyone began to eat breakfast. He barely ate and it worried everyone, And me and Bruce were trying to figure out why. Steve had gone to L's room so me and Bruce went to the lab to finish the blood test from L.

"The tests are finished tony" Bruce mumbled to me while grabbing the papers. We look them over and sighed it was clear that he wasn't human and definitely had animal DNA in him but it didn't seem to be added but he had something else. Something darker in him. It was like dark magic but natural and almost like he lived with it his whole life. But neither me or Bruce could figure out what it was exactly so we would have to ask L about it at some point but until then it was back to the drawing board.
