I felt myself getting up, out of my chair even though I was willing it not to. I can feel everyones' eyes on me. Their breaths are harsh and sudden as though trying to calm themselves. When I reach the front of the room I'm afraid of turning around. Their eyes digging at me with that look of complete and utter hate which they seem to all have mastered.
When I do turn around it's not what I expect they all look shocked and afraid. I don't know why but I'll use it to my advantage. "Jane choose your group leaders please." I don't know anyone from personal interaction but I have seen how people fair during strategic warafare. " I choose Alice as ground troop leader, and Danesh as artillery leader," everyone still seems on edge. I make my way back to my desk and then organize the rest of my peers into the two groups.
************
I don't remember much of the battle starting but now it was nearing the end. Alices' troops are scatered or cornerd and Danesh is battleing to maintain his five remaining tanks. The enemys forces are in better but still not good shape. I am busy giving Danesh instructions when Alice groans. I don't have to look I know she's lost another platoon. I am about to give Danesh more instructions when I realize that there is a fatal mistake in the enemys troop structure. In their haste to destroy Alices' troops they have exposed themselves to the Daneshs' tanks.
"Danesh focus all fire power on enemy forces attacking Alices' platoons." Danesh acts instantly and diminishes the enemy forces beyond recovery. Seconds after the enemy surrenders and we've won the battle.
It's like the room has a semi earthquake. Now I realize that we hadn't just won the battle but the championship. How could I forget, that today was the chapionship battle between the Greys and the Reds and we were the Reds. I'd just won and I couldn't belive it after lunch we'd be presented with medals and would be added to the winners wall.
The intercom in our class bursts to life and the room goes silent. The pricipals' voice sounds out across the room, "Simon Jane Abrahms and Alice Kinelie please report to my office." I look at Mr. Wazenzki for answer but he looks as puzzeld as I am. The principal never calls the winners to his office this early.
Alice and I walk in silence all the way to the princapals' office. I think why the principal would call us early I couldn't have done something wrong Alice couldn't have done something wrong either. As we walk into the principals office I see my father sitting inside.
The pricipal gestures toward two empty seats beside his desk. As I sit down I can't help feeling uneasy. "I'm sure you to are thirsty here drink this," the principal hands us each a styberfoam cup filled with water. I gulp it down quickly and so does Alice. " May I ask sir why we're here." The principal smiles at me but dosen't answer.
I begin to feel disorientated and my eyelids are getting heavy. What the heck is happening to me. The water it was spike with a drug to make me feel this way. It is just another 30 seconds before the drugs completely knock Alice and I out like a light.
