A: an execution of a sorcerer and the mother says " An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth and a son for a son" there's more too it that. Basically she says before the celebrations of being 20 years sorcerer free Uther's son will die.

Does anyone get the reference of the name of the chapter? It has to do with a song Hint, hint.

Merlin's POV

When we left Ealdor, Elizabeth seemed like she couldn't get away fast enough.

"Are you scared that someone is going to come chasing after us?"

I yelled up at her while I shot her with my cheeky grin at her. She flinched at the noise but quickly grinned to cover it and shot back

"Of course not, I just want to get there. I've been on the road for weeks now. I want a bed that I can sleep in for more than one night."

"Well, even at the pace you are going it will still take several days to get there, might as well slow down and pace yourself so that when we get to Camelot you aren't downright exhausted."

She continued to keep going at the same pace for a while longer, as if contemplating what I said and if it was worth slowing down and getting there a day or so later than what she would at the speed she was currently going. It looked liked she decided she was going to hike herself to exhaustion, when suddenly she slowed down and started to match my place.

"Good, for a second there it looked like you were going to walk yourself into the ground at the former pace you were walking at. What made you decide to slow down?"

"I realized that if I wore myself out completely before I got behind Camelot's wall. I'll be vulnerable to attack without any energy to fight back."

"Wow!" I exclaimed "there is a smart girl behind all that bullheadedness and determination." I said smiling again.

"Oh, be quiet you, you, smart Aleck." She laughed back at me.

"Oh, is that a girl of humor in there behind all that..." I motioned at her with my hands.

"Determination and bullheadedness, that were the words you used, yes?"

"Yes it was wasn't it? But a person is so much more than that, aren't they, Elizabeth?"

"Why Merlin, I think you just said something wise!" Elizabeth exclaimed with surprise.

"Where did you originally start your journey to Camelot from?" I suddenly asked Elizabeth.

She tensed up, as if getting ready to bolt away from me as fast as she could but as suddenly as she tensed up she relaxed again and replied with a very short, clipped response

"a long way from here on the other side of Cedric's kingdom."

I need to figure this young girl out. She was happy and carefree a second ago, until I brought up where she was from and then it looked like the first instinct she had was to run away as fast as she could and earlier she was walking so fast and constantly looking over her shoulder as if expecting someone to be there. She's hiding something, I just know it. Something to do with where she is from.

But what, though and why does she feel that she is being chased by someone? One thing is for certain I'm not going to get any answers out of her today, if ever.

"It's almost dark, perhaps we should stop and set up some sort of camp?" I asked Elizabeth as glad for the subject change as she was.

"I was hoping to go a little further, but perhaps your right. We don't want to set up camp in the dark and we both had a tiring day and will have another one tomorrow as well."

Over the next few days on our journey we talked quite a bit but I made sure not to bring up where she was from again. I talked about my friends and family and what we thought Camelot would be like and our plans when we got there. I was planning on staying with Gaius, the court physician and a good friend of my mother's. However, Elizabeth's plans were sorely lacking. She didn't have a place to stay or a job except for this vague idea to become a servant in the castle.

Whereas I was the opposite. I had a person to stay with when I got there but no job ideas. Maybe Gaius will have some ideas or at least know what is available. It was the fourth day when we first spotted Camelot and we were amazed at the view of the structure. However it wasn't until the next day that we were able to get to the gate.

At about 100 yards away with my cheeky grin in place "Race you!" I called out to her, while I was already starting to run.

"No fair!" She called back.

But even though I had a head start she was gaining, that is until she got about 20 feet away from the knights that were guarding the gate to Camelot. That was when she suddenly stopped and had what looked like an intense internal battle with herself that went on for a few minutes but whatever she was fighting about she ended up crossing the gate into Camelot. Where the first thing we saw was an execution of a sorcerer. What a happy welcome! Not!
