General Idea: On your tenth birthday you'll receive a watch that counts down the time until you meet your soulmate.

Original story by SnowBall

The light teal watches minutes melted down having eight hours fall to 7. The teenage boy sat staring, entranced by the contraption, as it counted down the time until he met his soulmate. A small memory abruptly threw itself into his thoughts. His tenth birthday, seven years ago since last month. _-A small box covered by beautiful dark blue paper, his very favorite color. His father brought in the small box from the porch, small amounts of confetti still covered the ground, colorful as ever. The box was small, but it wasn't so small that it could fit jewelry. It was the size of a medium sized music box. He noticed the small pale pastel blue card with a small crimson red wax emblem sealing the card shut. A small ∞ sign engraved into the red wax. His father spoke it's words aloud, it read:

"On this day, marking the tenth year of birth of Finnegan Josephine Quink, son of James Quink and Maria J. Madisons Quink, is given a watch marking the time until he meets his soulmate. This watch will be the favored color of the wearers soulmate, in this case the coloration of the watch is a pastel teal. The watches color may change, as the watch is matching the conscience mind of the wearers soulmate. Chose wisely who you show the remaining time."

His father was shocked, while his mother was excited. Giving him the watch, he gladly grabbed it greedily and started to tear it open. He gladly slapped on the watch as it then started counting down. 7 years and thirty one minutes left to go.-_

A jolt a fear ran down his pine as a booming voice shouted to him. He was ripped from his thoughts, and memories from the past as the voice reached his dark blue room. "Breakfast Finnegan!" the voice yelled. He stood, yelling back at his father's voice. "Coming!" he was so excited to tell them about the remaining time on his watch. "Only seven hours and thirty five minutes!" he quietly exclaimed to himself. He made it to the end of the stars, and walked to the small table seating his mother, father, and three year old sister, Jamie. "I have some big news mom and dad!" He exclaimed. His mother gave him an excited look asking "How much time is left?" her voice was more eager for an answer than usual. He looked at her and exclaimed then looked down at the small teal watch "Seven hours and thirty two minutes!" he was excited to meet this person, when he then realized... What if they don't like me? What if its a girl? Honestly, he'd never really looked at girls with the same heart eyes as James or Rylie, his two friends at school. What if- His mother's voice cut off the thought. "You'll be meeting her after school! I wonder what she'll be like!" his mother didn't notice the estranged look he gave her. He hoped it wouldn't be a girl, yet knew his parents would be disappointed. Even if he didn't choose his own soulmate, they still didn't want him with another guy. He tried to smile lightly as he said his goodbyes and his mother kissed his forehead. He walked for four minutes, making his way to the bus stop and waiting for the bus to arrive and take him to school.
