"Welcome back from the break. If you aren't aware we have the lovely Shin Suri here who is going to debut in two weeks from bighit," the first man said.
She tried to check her phone over the break but all of the staff were talking to her and she didn't want to be rude. Every now and then she would feel her phone vibrate and she knew exactly who it was.
"Two weeks is too long," the second man stated,"I don't think I'll be able to wait that long." Suri agreed, she'd been waiting for this for a long time as well. It was almost a year ago that she'd began this whole idol process of working out, dieting, vocal conditioning, and so on.
"You can at least pretend that you haven't fallen for her," the first man scolded,"Aren't you embarrassed?"
"You've heard her voice. How could you not fall for her?"
She rested her head on her hand,"I'm flattered. Besides I am quiet charming, aren't I?"
Cockiness is cute. The manager's words echoed in her mind. And to be a good rapper you should be a little cocky. They all shared a quick laugh and went on.
"You must have been popular in high school? Were the guys chasing you back then too?" The second man wondered aloud.
"Guys have never chased me," she brushed off the topic but they were invested in her personal life.
The first man asked,"Does that mean you've never dated? I find that hard to believe."
"I didn't have many guy friends in high school but I did briefly date one of them. We were just kids though so we decided we weren't ready for that and it didn't feel right."
"But someone had to decide that they weren't feeling anything romantic for the other. Who broke up with who?"
"It was a mutual decision," she said with a slight smirk.
"You can't get away from making faces just because we are on radio! That little smile makes me not believe you," the second man shouted.
"Are you still friends with the boy?" The first man's voice was cool and collected.
"Yeah we are really good friends still."
"Now you have to tell us who it is."
"I'll give you a hint, his last name is Kim."
"Well that's useless! Half of the people I know are named Kim!"
"Is he an idol? I think she's being so secretive about it because he's famous too."
Something in the distance caught her attention. Behind the two hosts was a large window where the editors and other such people were listening. She caught the eyes of her manager who had a not-so-pleased look on his face. It was clear that he'd been trying to get her attention for awhile but hadn't succeeded. He was doing a fast motion with his hand across his throat telling her to cut the conversation immediately.
"Believe what you want," she nervously replied and searched the empty chambers of her brain for a segway to a different topic.
"So just to make it clear," the second man leaned on the table,"You're currently single? Or is there another relationship you're pursuing?"
A laugh escaped from her lips like she'd heard a joke. She might have spilled her mouth before but they weren't going to get her to do it again.
"What's that supposed to mean?" The first man was curious.
"Let's just say that I'm keeping my options open," she shrugged. That was an answer that her manager would be satisfied and she wasn't lying completely.
"You hear that? She's available and open to offers for a date," the second man cheered.
The show finished shortly after and she said her goodbyes to all the staff before rushing to her manager.
"What was that?! Didn't you see me telling you to stop?! I thought I would've had to start a fire and make smoke signals to get your attention!" He may have been whispering but her ears were ringing.
"Sir I'm so sorry. I didn't know that was something we were keeping a secret. Besides I thought it was kind of funny," she laughed half heartedly. The manager didn't crack into a smile like she had hoped.
"That could've gone really bad, you're so lucky that the hosts weren't getting too serious about it. You could've started a scandal within seconds and not even noticed what you'd done. You need to watch what you do because an action can cause a hundred outcomes all at once."
"...but that means I didn't get myself into a scandal...right?"
He looked beside him to make eye contact with the girl. The manager's anger melted away. He couldn't stay upset with her. "This time I think you're in the clear but you need to be more careful."
"Yes! Oh my- I can breath again- my world was going black and white-"
"You're not off the hook. You'll be punished for acting up like that."
"Oh..." she popped awkwardly.
"Do that again and you're dead."
"Yes sir!" Suri smiled and was willing to take any punishment. After all she knew she deserved it. "Is it okay if I go home now? I think my laundry will really smell if I leave it in the washing machine for too long."
"Hurry home. If you come to the studio tomorrow with smelly clothes I'll make you work from sunrise to sundown," he replied.
"Yes sir!" She took off running. If her feet carried her fast enough she might actually get to her apartment before Yoongi did.
She checked the messages she'd gotten from him nearly two hours before.
I can't stop thinking about tonight
What are you going to wear ?
I know you're busy and all but could you at least respond
Please I'm dying just imagining it
I want to kiss you where you like it...
Can you leave the radio show early?
I'm getting too excited to see you
It's painful knowing that I have to wait...
Damnit. I hate you so much sometimes
I'm going to make you pay for this
Tonight is going to be special so don't be late
Suri laughed to herself. Yoongi has lately been showing sides of himself that he'd never shown before and she kind of liked it. He was never this needy for her attention. For the longest time she believed that he was repulsed by any such act of affection. She was curious what could've caused this drastic change in the singleminded and self centered boy she was acquainted with.
