Rob and Ruby are 10 year old twins that are always covered in mud and dirt. Ruby has bleach blonde straight hair and has deep ocean blue eyes. She always has rosy red cheeks. Her nose and cheeks are covered in freckles whilst the rest of her body has a luscious golden glow. She wears a royal blue dress with knee high socks. Her shoes are black a have a slight heel on the bottom. Ruby is tiny in comparison to her brother Rob. Rob has the blackest of black hair and has out of control curls. He has chocolate brown eyes and white pasty skin. Rob stands tall and proud with his shoulders back.

Rob and Ruby live with their mother Susan and father John. They all live together on a work farm in the village. Rob and Ruby help on the farm everyday morning and night. Every Thursday their father John goes to the pub to get drunk with the other farmers that live in the village. They don't have a lot of money because of the way their father drinks so they don't very often have something to eat.

It was Thursday evening and John their father was extremely drunk. He came home and demanded that Rob and Ruby were too old to live with them anymore. He threw them out and told them to go far far away. Their mother tried to fight for them but he turned violent towards her. Rob and Ruby started to walk out of the village. They walked for miles and miles until they came towards an autumn forest. It was called the enchanted forest.

The enchanted forest is a magnificent place with falling leaves dancing in the wind. The sun is almost always shining and when it isn't you can hear it crying to come back out. The trees are golden orange and the grass bright green.

The twins wondered aimlessly throughout the forest. It became dark. The stars were twinkling and the owls were hooting. Rob decided that it was getting late and they should find shelter. They piled leaves and collected twigs to make a den to sleep for the night. They built the den up against a tree .Despite the circumstances they looked on the bright side and imagined they were camping.

It was the next morning and the twins were both starting to wake up. They were covered in morning dew and tiny insects. Rob and Ruby started to open their eyes. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!" they screeched. In front of them hanging upside down from a tree there was a girl. The girl looked as pale as a ghost. She was as white as the clouds, transparent and deathly cold. When she was near the air became frosty and crisp. Her hair was dark and scraggly and her decaying body covered in filth. She had grey eyes that were constantly looking at the floor. She wore a white dress covered in gruesome ancient blood.

The twins felt in a state of shock. They were frightened, petrified, terrified. Time stood still as if they were in a dream. The girl was just hanging, limp and lifeless. She had no facial expression and her eyes were hollow; dead eyes. Rob dared to speak first. "Who are you?" Rob asked. "I'm Elizabeth. I live here." She exclaimed. "And who are you?" "I'm Rob and this is my twin sister Ruby. We've been kicked out our home." Ruby, paralysed couldn't speak. Her words were stuck in her throat. She finally managed to spit her words out. "Why are you here?" she asked. "Because I can't leave!" Elizabeth said, distraught. "Why?" Ruby questioned. "Because ...Because I'm dead!"

Rob and Ruby stared at her, making sure they didn't mishear her. They then looked at each other and at exactly the same time they said with a puzzled face "You're a ghost?" "Yes and I came to you to warn you not the drink from the rocky lake otherwise bad things will happen. Just don't do it! Otherwise you will regret it!" Elizabeth then walked away slowly taking tiny steps, placing her bare feet on the ground. Rob and Ruby were so confused. They didn't know what to think. The twins were hungry and thirsty so they walked around the enchanted forest looking for food and water.

They came across an apple tree and picked lots of apples. They had found food but still needed water so carried on searching. They came across a lake. The rocky lake was sparkling in the sunlight. Stepping stones were swimming in the lake. Reflected in the lake, the fluffy clouds almost swam as they dawdled across the autumn sky. Ruby then remembered what Elizabeth had said. She tried to convince Rob not to drink from the lake.
