So, a new neighbour had moved in to our Grove. My parents discussed him saying that he moved here under cover, away from people who know him and away from the police! When i heard the word 'police' i knew that this man was a bad person, whom moved in to the neighbourhood, purely just to cause trouble. The trouble soon began.......
They, my parents would slip out a night, when it was way past 12 o'clock, which was their limit to the night. As soon as i would hear them leave the house, i would rush to the window, look outside and see them pull up their hoods and run to the other side of the Grove.
They would return 4 hours later, red eyed and tired. By that time i was in my own room pretending to be asleep, however in this house hold, sleep wasn't a comforting thing.
One time, when i waching my parents leave to go to the house across the Grove, i saw that my parents had a large bag. It was an unusual thing for them to carry and i wondered what it was.
On returning, they didnt have that bag, only themselves and their hooded tops.
I realised, being the child that had to grow up pretty fast in this house, that the new neighbour was a Drug Dealer.
At first, i wasn't really in the mood to care about what my parents do any more. They can go live life the way they want, and i'm just going to care for me siblings.
But then it dawned on me.....With a Drug Dealer, the whole families involved!
I didn't know what to do, my best option was to hide away with my brothers if any trouble was to come...........
................I could grass on the man to the police, maybe just one phone call, but it would have to be from a phone box. This wasnt't going to be easy.
The next day i needed a plan to find out who he was. I had a friend, that i comed to know of, who lived down the road, that was a professional pick pocketer.
It was weird asking him of a favour that did not involve pockets, but what did he have to lose. Mum, jail and Dad, well lets just say he aint the one to hang about. He lives with his foster parents, the nice MR and MRS Jenkins. So i asked him if he could help me out in a bit of a difficult situation.
Ofcourse, there was something i had to give him out of it. £10 i suggested. It went up to £45. Ah well, this is what having parents are for to get money off, plus mine weren't exactly using it to a good use.
So that same night, 1 o'clock, my parents crept out the house. They didnt know that i was outside by the bush waiting for them with my 'pick pocketer' friend. As soon as they were ahead of us i motioned for him to go. He rolled his eyes and followed them. I waited patiently by my house, waiting for the trophy to arrive.
He came back running, alarmed!
He ran straight into the house, i ran after him, wondering what was going on. We raced up to my bedroom and he hid under the bunk bed and i plunged into my duvet cover. A couple of minutes later my parents came to the house, mumbling loudly to themselves. They climbed the stairs and opened my bed room door. i sucked in my breath.
'see i told you no one is here. Their fast asleep'
'hm.....maybe they went some where else'
'well it doesn't matter. We'll just have to be on our gaurd'
'yes but what about....'
Their voices trailed off. The front door banged close. I let out a huge sigh!
My friend crawled out from uner the bunk. He handed me the card and left the room. I looked out through the window that veiwed the back gardens. I saw him creep away into the darkness.
I looked at the card that i was holding in my hand. It contained all the infomation i needed. A number, a name and a Fax code. I kept it under my pillow, for tommorow i shall make the call.
Tommorow
I have the card in my hands. No one can see me in the bathroom. No one is here. I have my phone topped up. Its time to make the call. *hesitant* What if this isnt the answer. No i have. I can throw away the sim after ive made the call. Its okay the police will protect us, its for me and my brothers. C'mon... i can do it.
*beep, beep, beep*....... 'rings'
