A/N: I know the speed has been pretty fast, but now I'm gonna go into detail. The rest of the story will take place more or less within 3 months and then skip to present (since the official website says Numbuh 1 is "trial pending" I'm going to assume "present" is season 5-6)

Also, based on the acronym, you can guess what happens. So... this is gonna have some hurt/comfort. Fair warning.

I also forgot to warn you. Im not great with action sequences, but it'll happen near the end. Promise. Kinda.

Arctic Training Base. Trial room. One week later. 1600 hours (4:00 pm)

Sector V watched from an indoor porch as Nigel fought an OCTOPADLER. The entrance exam for the CND.

"You're right, Abby, this Nigel Uno kid is pretty good." Numbuh 11 said

"Told'cha, he's a little high-strung, but totally Kids Next Door material."

Numbuh 274, the current trainer, walked up. He sounded threatened, like someone had threatened to take his spot.

"I'll be the judge of that." he said, jumping down

Nigel beat the machine and stood in front of it, without looking, as it collapsed.

Nigel heard clapping from behind him a looked

"Numbuh 274, sir." he saluted

"You handled that OCTOPADLER pretty well, cadet." he said, Nigel saluted, fully knowing who he was talking to. "But do you think you have what it takes to fight me?"

"Fight you, sir?" Nigel repeated "No way!"

"I don't recall giving you a choice, cadet." he said as he charged forward

Nigel had no choice but fight

Though he couldn't get a single hit, he dodged all the hits that were thrown at him.

Finally, Nigel attempted a punch, but Numbuh 274 junped and landed behind him with a kick

Nigel fell on his stomach

He got up and the two boys charged at each other ready to punch

A second went blank

Nigel's fists was in the trainer's hand. He was thrown back

He tried to stand but fell

"My shoelaces!" he cried

"Tied together." Numbuh 274 said, pointing a weapon at him "Oldest trick in the book."
