I found this poem after years of it sitting on a small price of paper in my desk. When I read it and wrote it down never did I think it would be so true in the future....

The day I lost you to another place

I lost a part of me that was

tangled up with you before you left

and now I know that I should never

have let the two of us become so

entangled. So that when you did go

I could still find myself whole

-without the tears in my fabric.

And now I know that you will

return. We will remain the same.

You could not controlled your going

-it was a physical departure -one

that leads to letters and plans to

visit. Plans I now know never come

to pass, despite their good intentions
