I found this poem after years of it sitting on a small price of paper in my desk. When I read it and wrote it down never did I think it would be so true in the future....
The day I lost you to another place
I lost a part of me that was
tangled up with you before you left
and now I know that I should never
have let the two of us become so
entangled. So that when you did go
I could still find myself whole
-without the tears in my fabric.
And now I know that you will
return. We will remain the same.
You could not controlled your going
-it was a physical departure -one
that leads to letters and plans to
visit. Plans I now know never come
to pass, despite their good intentions
