I dedicate this book to the nation of Zambia. In a time when nations would rather disassociate themselves with Christianity and the God of Christians, Zambia stands aloft unashamed of its status as a Christian nation and has shown its pride in God by officially declaring itself as a Christian nation. In this is found Zambia's hope for a brighter and prosperous future. For as Psalm 33:12 says: 'Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord...' May this book be the expression of that hope, not just for Zambia but also for every Christian who is not ashamed to be called by the name of the Lord.

[INTRODUCTION]

If there is a subject on which there are plenty of books, it is that of blessings and prosperity. There are so many that it does not seem logical for one to write another book on the subject. However, people do have different perceptions concerning blessings and prosperity. And some of these perceptions are not biblical. Just because someone quotes scripture when talking or writing about something, it does not necessarily mean that what he or she is saying or writing is biblical. There are those who quote scripture in order to make their fleshly ideas and perceptions appear biblical. However, some misquote scripture innocently. They speak about things on which they have little or no knowledge. Then there are those who are driven by wrong motives when writing on the subject. They want to become best sellers and, consequently, become rich. This is because they know that books on blessings or prosperity attract a lot of readership. Everybody wants to be blessed or prosperous. And a lot of people these days are willing to go to extremes to get what they perceive as blessings or prosperity. Those with the gift of writing are only too glad to take advantage of this attitude for their own enrichment. It is easy to corrupt noble things when your motives are not noble. Indeed, a Christian writer whose aim is to become rich will not give a second thought to the idea of twisting scripture to support his or her misconceived ideas in order to draw many readers. It is as the Lord said of the spiritual leaders in Jeremiah's time:
