So just from the BTS fics I have read so far, I have noticed that almost all of them take place in Korea.
For this fic; however, it will be taking place in the U.S.
I know some people won't like that, and it would be confusing because Nam-joon is the only one who is fluent, but for the purposes of my sanity (and it's a book for Christ's sake, not everything will be as it is in real life), I'll be keeping it in the U.S and they can all speak English.
I do have my reasons, and I just hope no one wants to kill me.
The biggest one is that I am totally American. I am in no way Korean and I have little to no knowledge about Korea( other than the capital is Seoul and a few tiny pieces that wouldn't be much help to a book). I feel like for me to write a good story that would take place in Korea, I would need to have a complete understanding of their culture and customs. You may just think I'm lazy, but I also just don't want to research a lot of stuff and try conveying a certain thing in the story, and end up being completely wrong. I am trying not to offend anyone by not trying to act like I know things that I don't.
I really do not mean to offend anyone, but this all of the purposes of entertainment.
If anyone would like to enlighten me on any knowledge I could use though, that would be much appreciated as I hope to eventually write a story that can take place in Korea and have everything be correct.
I hope everyone understands, or at least tries to, where I am coming from.
