The funny thing about our lives is that we spend most of our adolescence creating an image for ourselves. You see, that image isn't permanent. It is always subject to change. People create themselves, take it for a test drive, then if they don't like it they will create a new model to test run at a later time. Some will change for themselves, simply because they aren't happy with their lives, and others will change because they want their peers to view them differently than they do. I'm not going to tell you you shouldn't change for other people, that's not what this is about. The whole purpose of this is to show the facade some people carry. Myself? I'm guilty of it. Everyone I know is guilty of this in fact. Trusting someone usually comes with their honesty, but most people aren't as honest as they may seem. Granted this might not be intentional, or it may be, you'll most likely never know. Most people have the person they are, and then the person they present to others. Even with your best friends, you present a different version of yourself to them than your true self. That person you are while you're alone, is you. Try telling me you're exactly the same around everyone you see, and then I'll call you a liar. We all have at least that one person's opinion who we care about the most, so we change accordingly. This change we all go through, is a lie. Thus making it hard for me to trust anyone. I was not lucky enough to think about this until recently, and I had to learn the hard way. He broke my trust. He broke my heart. Most devastatingly, he broke me.
