Hey Everyone! Welcome to my first book! Hope you enjoyyy :)

Chapter 1: Just A Dream?

------------------------------------------------

"Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess named..." As the story slowly rolls off my tongue my younger sister interrupts, "ASTRID!"

"I was getting there! Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess named," I glance down at my 7-year-old sister and give her a sly smirk, "Eislynn."

"EISLYNN! You're NOT a princess! I AM!" she yells as she crosses her arms and sticks her tongue out at me.

Just as I was about to tell her that she's too old for my lame princess stories my dad walks into the living room. "What is going on in here, I can hear you two screaming from the man cave."

I roll my eyes at my dad's comment, "It's not my fault that Astrid no longer likes my stories," I shrug as I begin to walk past him and pause at his side, "And you wish you had a man cave."

I make my way up to my room and internally cringe. I definitely need to update my room to make it look more... not like a 10-year-olds room. I look at the time and realize that I must get a shower and do my homework.

After a quick shower and finishing my homework, I realize I have some time to spare so I decide to watch Netflix until I grow tired.

---------------------

I walked towards the school and suddenly it morphed into an ice cream parlor. What the hell? I entered the shop as the bell above the door rang and looked around. It was very colorful and had multiple glowing signs that seemed very bright in contrast to the darkness outside. I walked towards the counter and a lady appeared. She smiled and gestured to the menu hanging on the wall behind her.

"Hello, what would you like?" she asked politely.

I offered her a smile in return, "Hold on one moment." I began to read over the sign until I found what I was looking for. "May I please have two scoops of teaberry please?" I asked the purple haired lady.

"Sure thing!" She turns to the ice cream behind her and begins to scoop my ice cream before I realize I have no money.

"Oh! I'm so sorry! I don't have any money to pay for it," I begin to apologize.

She turns around and begins to giggle, "You're funny, you don't have to pay here." She grazed over my body and I felt out of place.

"What do you mean? I don't have to pay?" I ask her. She must have seen the confusion on my face because she suddenly got more serious.

"You don't know where—" She was cut off by the bell from the door being opened. I glanced behind me and saw a boy covered in tattoos.

"Hey Violet, the usual please." His dark hair falls over his eyes for a brief second as he nods towards the purple haired lady—Violet, "Make that two of them", his deep voice once again cuts through the silence. He begins to walk towards the seat next to mine at the counter and gestures to it.

"Do you mind if I sit here?" he asks, finally acknowledging me.

"No, go right ahead." I smiled at him and really looked at him for the first time. He had dark, almost black hair. His eyes were piercing blue, which contrasted quite nicely with his hair. I realized I was looking at his face for too long, so I quickly looked away.
