I never had that damn string from the start.

I was only 4 years old when I had learnt about something, something life changing.

"The String of Fate is the thread that is attached to you right this moment, it's your only clue to find your soulmate, some people dedicate their whole lives to finding their soulmate, some try to find them as early as kids while others ignore them and wait until their adults," Says Ms Red sweetly.

"Eww," Says some of the boys around me.

"Haha yes, ew," Says Ms Red, "The String of Fate can only be seen by the ones it attaches it's self too and you must take extra special care of your string, once it is broken it will never reapear-"

I instantly raise my hand, cutting off, Ms Red.

"Yes, Miley?" Asks Ms Red kindly. I look up at her, my eyes wide from confusion and fear, but mostly feeling lost.

"But um Ms, I don't have the string," I say clearly, Ms Red looked at me confused and quite shocked.

"Miss Red, why dose Miley not have the eh string?" Asks Charlie.

"Well I guess it just means Miley doesn't have her soulmate yet," Says Ms Red.

"Miley dosent have a sowlmate?" Asks someone.

"E-eh, that's not-" Says Ms Red.

"Miley doesn't have the stwring," Whispers a voice. I sit still, confused and silent as I look up at Ms Red.

Hi, I'm Miley, a girl that, to my knowledge has no soulmate, after what happened in kindergarten no one else found out except my parents. Kids from kindergarten kinda teased me about it but apart from that I live a pretty normal life.

I sit in class lazily as I gaze out the open window as a bird in a nest waits patiently for her mate to reapear. I stare out at the open sky without a single cloud in sight. I look over at my best friend who was sitting with her boyfriend, James. She was lucky, she had already found her soulmate.

"And that is how you find the square root of 1039," Says the teacher as he adresses the class, but I couldn't be bothered listening. The bell rings, ending the torture.

"Alright class, you are dismissed, Miley I would like to have a word," Calls the teacher as the rest of my classmates get up to go home I wait behind.

"Yes sir?" I ask after everyone had left as I remain seated.

"Are you alright, Miley? You have been seeming rather distant lately," Asks Mr. Roberts.

"I'm fine, just feeling a bit out of pace I guess," I say honestly as I avoid his gaze.

"Hm, hang on," Says Mr. Roberts as he grabs a flyer off of his desk and places it on my desk. I look down at the flyer with little interest, photography club.

"Photography?" I say as I examin the flyer.

"Yes, I think you would be great, you seem to have a keen eye and I believe you will be great, I hope to see you there," Says Mr. Roberts before leaving the classroom with his bag in hand.

"Huhhhh," I say confused. What the heck was that? Mr. Roberts was nice to me, hmm but he's a teacher.

I pack my bag and then leave the classroom. I walk down the halls, passing a few people as they grab their books from their lockers and some who were making out. I walk home alone, like always. I pull out my phone and sit down in BlueBell Park. Photography huh, guess it won't hurt to have a little practise.

I look over at a beautiful flower bed filled with vibrant blue flowers. I walk over with my phone in hand as I get ready to take a photo of one of the flowers when suddenly a white butterfly landed on the centre of the flower. I quickly take the photo, capturing it's beauty. I examin the photo, it's beauty far greater than any ordinary flower.

"Not bad," I mutter as I upload it to tumblr. I continue to take more photos and upload them. After a good few photos I decided to head home, not knowing how those few photos were about to change my fate, forever.
