This was it, the big day. The hours spent in preparation had turned into days, days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months. Today was going to be perfect. The doors opened, revealing the church sanctuary, overflowing with flowers.

First entered the bridesmaids and groomsmen, friends of the bride and groom. Following them was the flower girl, little Ally, who smelled every handful of petals before tossing them onto the aisle. Third in the line was the ring-bearer, little Samuel, who focused so hard on balancing the rings that he nearly bumped into his sister, the flower girl.

Suddenly, the music began, the people arose and there in the doorframe stood the gorgeous bride and her father. Slowly, the pair made their way toward the altar. Jamie looked up nervously at her father, who met her gaze and patted her hand, silently assuring her that everything was going to be ok.

Jamie focused her eyes on the altar, and on the man waiting for her there. She and her father reached the end of the aisle, and as her father handed her off, he placed his last kiss on his daughter's forehead while she was Jamie Hughes. The music stopped and all Jamie could think about was the anticipation leading up to this moment. In just a few short minutes, her life would change forever. She'd been through a lot, but that had only strengthened her. Despite her past, Jamie was looking forward now, into her future.

The preacher began speaking, and Jamie swallowed nervously. The man in front of her holding her hand smiled, and melted away all of Jamie's worries.

This is it, she thought to herself.
