"Michael!" I heard Layla call out my name amongst the crowd of students trying to make their way to lunch.
"Layla." I breathed out, she struggled to make her way through the bustling crowd.
When she reached where I was standing she put her hands on her knees and panted as if she had just run a marathon.
I laughed at her struggle, we stood on the grass of the school oval, away from most of the people.
"Not funny Clifford." She growled, but broke out into a grin soon after.
"Oh, so we're referring to each other by our last names now are we, Thompson?" I smirked.
"Maybe we are Clifford, maybe we are." She laughed, stepping closer to me.
My heart rate quickened at her presence, even just her standing near me could
make my heart flutter.
Layla continued to step closer to me until our chests were touching, I swallowed a lump in my throat and stared deep into her bright blue eyes.
I could get lost in her eyes, they were like an endless pool of water that I wish I could swim in.
"C-can I try something?" Layla questioned out of the blue, blushing a little at her own words.
I nodded in agreement, going along with whatever she had in mind, as long as I was this close to her, I was happy.
I tucked a piece of her loose blonde hair behind her ear, causing her to blush at my action.
What had gotten into me? where did this sudden confidence come from? I snapped my hand back down to my side and turned bright red.
Our bodies radiated heat from the close proximity, I could feel her heart beat against my chest and she could probably feel mine.
She swallowed, looked into my green eyes and began to lean in.
The closer she got, the more he closed her eyes. This must be a dream I thought, this can't be real.
I could hear my loud heart beat ring through my ears at her actions.
I closed my eyes and went along with it, leaning in as well.
Soon enough our lips brushed against one another, until Layla pulled back abruptly.
Even though our lips never fully met, I still loved every millisecond of it. It was like electricity filled my veins and fireworks went off in my brain.
"I'm so sorry Michael, I can't do this." Layla mumbled taking a few steps backward.
Layla began to mumble something to herself, I could barely hear what she was saying but it sounded like something along the lines of
'I'm going to get into so much trouble. He probably saw, he sees everything. I'm going to have to be punished.'
"For what? What can't you do Layla?" I asked, taking a step towards her, resulting in her moving backwards even more.
"I have a boyfriend."
||a/n|| woah there sorry if this gave you feels
I was going to originally going to make them kiss and not have her have a boyfriend, but I'm evil so sorry about that, but who doesn't like a little drama eh?
I added the mumbling part just before I updated because it fits in with the story and what happens later on ;) *evil cackling* I'm sorry, I'm so evil.
I decided to change it and make the first an last chapter him talking to his therapist and the rest are flash backs in his pov
the pic of mikey tho :')
