“Guys, me and Becky have something to tell you.”

Me and Becky were stood with our closest friends who were going to the festival with us; Matt, Alice and Chris, about to tell them the good news about Glastonbury. We had planned how we were going to do this for the whole trip to school! It's me and Becky, we couldn't just do it like normal people and tell them the news straight. No way!

We made our expressions look distraught and upset, adding a broken tone to our voices as we spoke.

“We're, well...we're-” Becky started, just before Matt abruptly cut her off.

“What?!” Matt said, a sliver of anger slipping into his voice. “Aren’t you allowed? Screw that, we’ll sneak you out an-”

Mine and Becky's abrupt laughing cut Matt off half way through his sentence and we watched as, slowly, each of our friends' faces changed from a look of upset to one of confusion. If anything, that made me laugh even more! We were beginning to get some really weird looks from people around us so we attempted to straighten up, quiet giggles still escaping our lips.

“No, no! We are allowed!” Becky squealed happily, pointing at each of them in turn.

“You should have seen your faces!” I added, again sinking into gentle laughter.

All around me I head shouts of ‘whoop’ and ‘yeah!’ and I smiled at my friends. I truly couldn’t wait to go to Glastonbury this weekend.

After that, the day went in a whirlwind of lessons that didn’t mean anything and conversations about what to pack and how to get alcohol. Did I mention that all five of us were putting £25 into the alcohol fund? Yeah. We're going to get Alice's older sister Sarah to buy it for us as she's the only 18 year old we know well enough.

I had no idea what to pack, this is my first music festival ever and I’d never been camping properly. I can't say it was ever for me, really, but this was different. This was a music festival and it was more than worth sleeping in a field for!

By now I was sat with Becky and the others at lunch, so I decided to ask them their opinion.

“Guys, I have no idea what to pack. What do people wear at these shindigs?” I asked, looking over at the others hopefully. Chris caught my eye and smiled.

“Not much,” he explained, “Definitely not your whole wardrobe. Mainly shorts and summer clothes, maybe a mac or waterproof in case it rains. Oh, and dry shampoo is always good, as are baby wipes and your toothbrush.”

“Oh! And wellies! Yes, summer clothes and wellies. Yeah, yeah, I know it sounds weird but just trust me, okay?” Becky added before launching into an in depth description of what clothes she would be taking.

I nodded to myself, I guess that would work. The weather was forecast as being a heat wave weekend so I doubt there will be any rain. I certainly hope there isn't any, I don't want to catch a horrible cold that will ruin my weekend. I also hope there's a way to shower there, I can't go for 5 days without a shower. Not a chance in hell is that happening! I’ll have to ask Becky about that later.

By the end of lunch she had planned everything she was going to take and vowed to come to my house after school to help me pack. Well, we were meant to be packing but knowing us, we will end up watching Viva La Bam reruns and eating our weight in peanut M&M's. I guess we'll see what happens, ey?

I got up and headed to my next lesson with Alice, arranging to meet Becky at her car after school so we could head to my house together. I really hope this last lesson passes quickly!

“This is perfect.” Becky said as she threw my (brand new, might I add) dark blue H&M off the shoulder, knitted jumper into my suitcase. To be fair, I agreed with her. It's gorgeous, knitted really loose so it has loads of tiny holes in it. It would go perfect with shorts and a bikini top underneath.

“Yeah, cool.” I replied with a smile, “I love that jumper.”

“Oh, Plea-se. Holly, that couldn’t be classed as a jumper even in a parallel universe, it’s barely there. But that’s what’s so good about it.”

I nodded my head in agreement, I wasn’t going to argue. She offered to pack for me so, hey, I’m going to leave her to it. She knows way more about what to pack than me, anyway. Although I did need to ask that pressing question that I hadn’t been able to get off of my mind. You know, about the whole shower situation.

“Becky?” I asked as she continued to rifle through my wardrobe, clothes falling on the floor in messy tangles. She better be tidying that up afterwards.

“Yeah?”

“Well, how do we go about getting showers? Please say we can because seriously, there's no way I will be able to go that long without a wash.”

I had barely even finished the sentence before she started laughing, starting at small giggles before erupting into a full, loud belly laugh. I narrowed my eyes at her and waited patiently for her to answer, this was a serious question!

“Well,” She said, her giggles finally coming to a stop. “Chris knew that we girls would say that so he’s got us camping on some kind of luxury site. It has a shower block and even a damn kitchen! It has cost us like £300 more, though.”

I sighed in relief. Thank goodness, a shower! You have no idea how happy I was to hear that.

“Good.” I replied, “Now come on, chop chop! These clothes aren’t going to pack themselves.” I joked with her, earning me a coat hanger thrown at my head. Lovely.

It was way after midnight by the time we had finished packing but I guess that was okay, Becky was staying over anyway. We weren’t going in to school tomorrow because we were going to start the drive down.

I actually couldn't wait!

*/ You guys enjoying this so far?! Trust me, it hasn't even gotten STARTED! :P /*
