Five years after the second Titan war, Thalia quit the Hunters. She wanted to age and be with her friends. A few years later, Thalia came to visit Annabeth at her job as a middle school teacher. She had planned on spending the whole day there with Annabeth. That day there was a new student. He came in late, apologizing and panting from running. Both Thalia and Annabeth sucked in their breath as they took in the boy. It was quite obvious to them that it was Luke's reincarnation. They smiled weakly from the memory of Luke and Annabeth let him slide. She assigned her students an independent math page to complete while her and Thalia sat and tried to focus on anything but the memory of Luke.
