Tori's lips brushed against Brennan's with ease, floating between his lips as they slowly compressed. Her hand drifted down to Brennan's waist, caressing it softly, while her other hand began to caress Brennan's face.
As soon as her hand made contact with Brennan's face, he pulled back.
Brennan's eyes were wide as he stared back at Tori. She looked at him intimately, staring deep into his eyes.
Tori just kissed me... Why did she kiss me, I mean I liked it, it was nice and all but why did SHE kiss me. We're friends, I mean she's cute and all, but I just haven't thought of her in THAT way, not really anyway
"Why did you kiss me," he questioned.
"Because I like you Brennan, I always have. I've kinda had a crush on you for years you know," Tori then went onto explain when her crush with Brennan first began:
It started back in middle school, and then something, one day just clicked and Tori never saw Brennan in the same light again. She had bottled up her feelings for him for almost six years and tonight she finally let those feelings surface. And so she kissed Brennan, after six years of waiting.
Brennan was dumbfounded after hearing Tori's story about how she had had a crush on him for years. His expression said it all; eyes wide and glazed, mouth agape, breathing shallow.
What does she want... I mean, I don't want to be in a relationship right now, I'm about to go off to college, and I'll have enough stress as it is dealing with classes, I DON'T need the strain of a relationship on top of that
"S-Soooo, what do you want to do," he said shakily.
"I just wanted you to know, and.. I mean, I'd love to date you and all, but we're both going off to college. So... I guess, we can just 'hang out' for this summer and see where it takes us," Tori said.
Tori was nothing if not cool; she understood Brennan and that he'd be stressing about his upcoming freshman semester, she too would be getting prepared for her fresh start at college. And though she would love to be in a relationship with Brennan, she also didn't want the strain of a relationship during her first year; she worked too hard to get into Wertheimer (one of the top schools in the country), and she wasn't about to wreck her hard work for a boy, even if it was her first love.
"O-Okay, that sounds fair Tori.." Brennan spoke, a bit unsure of himself, but liked the idea of not jumping into a relationship this close to heading off to college.
She really gets me... Would it be so bad to date someone like Tori
Tom and Kacey had just come into view, walking intimately close to each other. Brennan made a mental note, but spoke nothing of it.
The gang gathered their things, put out the fire, and drove away from their makeshift campsite.
The cool costal air brushed against their skin, the sand clung to their bodies like a tree's roots in a hurricane, and an occasional mist of seawater splattered across their faces as they made their way off the beach.
After Brennan had dropped off Tom and Kacey at their respective homes, he and Tori made their way to Brennan's house in silence–no talking, nor glancing–not even a solemn thought shared between them.
They rolled into Brennan's drive way and both got out. Both of them walked to the back of Brennan's Jeep but neither spoke; Brennan couldn't even look at her.
What do I say
Tori, feeling Brennan was uneasy, spoke first.
"I'll message you tomorrow okay?"
