See It Through My Eyes

Chapter 2

Ben flashed me a smile before turning to open his locker. I liked his smile. Beautiful white teeth and cute little dimples.

Just as I was turning to grab my books, Louren and Matthew sneak up on me and slam my locker shut. They were 2 of my best friends. I just have my small circle in this big school, but I like it that way. Me and my little group of 6.

"Hey guys!" I say as I give them each a big hug. Louren always looked perfect and Matthew always had his nails long and pretty. Everyone in our circle had their own kinks and twists. But that was what made us all love each other! Arii loved her braids, Zach was crazy and weird, and Mario and Cat were... well, Mario and Cat.

They return the hugs and I introduce them to Ben. "Hey Ben!"

Ben turns, "Yeah?"

"I want you to meet some of my friends. Louren Beech And Matthew Taylor."

He shakes their hands. "Hi! I'm Bentley. But as I think we've established, you can call me Ben." He flashes that smile again. It makes me weak in my knees. How? Don't ask me! I haven't got a clue!

"Have you guys seen Arii and Zach?" I ask.

Louren takes a sip of her lemonade. "Nope. Not yet."

"What about Mario and Cat?"

"Nope. Not them either." She lets out a chuckle.

Matthew speaks up, "So, Bentley, where are you coming from?"

"Colorado."

"Wow!"

Ben laughs, "Ariel Said the same thing!"

"Well ya. Wow!" Matthew giggles at himself. "Why did you move so far from home?"

"My dad got a job promotion. It had a higher pay, and my parents thought they would like it out here. Plus Hudson doesn't like the snow. So I guess I'm the only one who will miss the white Christmas."

I turn to him, "Who's Hudson?"

"He's my best friend!" Ben replied, "His parents we big druggies, so we kinda took him in a little over 7 years ago. But when you meet him, don't say anything about it. He stayed home today to help unpack."

"To help unpack?" I asked confused.

"Ya that was just his excuse for missing the first day. He really doesn't like school."

"I see..."
