The brass door handle was like ice on my palms. I turned it and pulled open the big door. The second the door opens I hear the instinct sound of chatter and locker doors slamming. I am walking down the corridor, into the hallway. My locker is just around the next corner.

But, the second I turn the corner, I slam into someone else's body. He drops his books and papers.

"I'm so sorry! Let me help." I say as I lean down to help him pick up everything I just made him drop.

"No, it's ok. You didn't mean to." He sounded... nervous.

I looked up and saw a face I didn't recognize, "First Day here?" I ask

"Ya. I can't find my locker" he looked embarrassed.

"Don't worry. It's a big school. And it took me a while to figure this place out too. I'll help you find it!"

"It's fine. You don't have to."

"Ok, well I want to"

"Well then I guess I'm following you..." he said as he handed me a white sheet of paper with his classes, locker number and combo, and lunch number.

I take the paper and smile to myself. His locker was right by mine. 187, mine was 188. I walk past him and lead the way to our lockers. "Well, here it is! Your locker."

"Thanks! That helped a lot. And I'm sorry you had to show me. Now you might be late to first period..."

"It's really no problem! When you handed me your sheet, I knew exactly where I was going because my locker is literally right here," I say before I turn and start putting in my locker combination in to open it.

"Well then I guess that solves it!" He says with a laugh. It makes me laugh to. "Hey. I didn't catch you name," he looks me in the eyes. He had blue eyes and brown hair.

"It's Ariel, Ariel Martin." I reply with a smile.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Ariel. I'm Bentley, Bentley Sawyer." Bentley Sawyer? A strong name. But it fits him. He looks like a Bentley. But I like Ben, as well.

"Hi Bentley. Is it ok if I call you Ben?"

"Sure. All my friends and family back in Colorado call me that."

"Wow! Colorado? Why did you move to Florida?"

"My dad got a job promotion."

"Oh. What's the snow like? I've always wanted to know."

"It's cold. And you can make snowmen and have snow ball fights. Or just stay inside with some hot chocolate. Snow is my favorite. And I've always loved a white Christmas. I think that's what I'm gonna miss most, other than my friends and family."

"I wish it would snow here, sometimes."
