"Elizabeth, get down here this instant." Screeched my mother.
Tying my curly, long, red hair into a high pony tail, i raced down the stairs of my attic bedroom. I paused at the bottom and wondered what gruelling chores i had to do today.
Every weekend i had to do some sort of job around the house. I had no time for hanging out with friends (if i had any, at least) or anything fun.
"Why doesn't Liam have to do chores?" I asked my mother when I walked into the kitchen. I sat down and buttered some bread.
"Liam is a very busy person," sighed mum. As if sensing an argument was about to start, Liam walked in, abruptly putting an end to our conversation.
Liam was a kind compassionate person and was constantly standing up for me.
"Why don't i do the chores today?" Liam said to mum whilst pouring milk on some cereal. Whenever mum wasn't looking my way, he would help me with my chores. Once mum had caught him helping me sort through the pantry and given ME a months grounding.
"Elizabeth-" Liam started.
"Now don't you start on that Elizabeth crap," mum said as if I weren't in the room. "Now Elizabeth, today i want you to clean out the gutters and wash the cars until they sparkle"
With that i was out of the room before she could assign me more to do.

"I'm going to the super market." Mum called up to me on the roof. "I'll be back in half an hour." She got into her car a drove off.
Once mum speed off, Liam climbed up on the roof and helped me clean the gutters out.
"You shouldn't let her treat you like that." Started Liam. I heard this speech many times before, so i zoned out on what he was saying.
I thought about the time, almost 3 years ago, when I was a normal kid who did normal things. I excelled at school and had many friends.
I thought about that one fateful day. I was 8 years old and was running away from a bully. A loud crack echoed through the school and i found myself, once on the ground, now on top of my classroom.
I had no idea how i got up there, but from that day on, i gradually lost friends until I was left with no one.
I was around the time of the incident that mum started giving me chores.
I was brought back to the present when my brother flicked my ear.
"Ow," i said, rubbing my ear.
"Were you even listening to a word i said?" Questioned Liam, even though he already knew the answer.
I was about to apolerguize but i was distracted by an owl landing next to me. In its beak it held a letter. The owl dropped the letter in my lap and abruptly flew off.
I looked to Liam in shock, his expression mimicking mine.
The letter had a purple wax seal with, what looked like, a bager, an eagle, a lion and a snake surrounding the letter H.
I gently picked up the letter and turned it over. In emerald-green handwriting it said: miss E Summer, The Roof, 159 Moon Court, London.
"Open it." I heard Liam say over my shoulder.
As gently as I could i, i open the letter so accurately addressed to me.
