chapter 3

For the next two days stanum didn't come to school, i was scared thinking maybe something bad as happened to him, so i decided to tell my mum about it.

Mum. I called

Yes dear.

Can i talk to you for a sec. I asked nervously.

Sure tell me whats wrong.

Mum am scared about something and also feeling very guilty about it.

Whats that my dear. She asked calmly.

I explained everything that happened during the practicals.

God that's bad, how his he now.

That's the point i can't find him and he hasn't come to school since then, nobody even know where he lives. I explained.

That's strange.

I don't know what to do i'm just so confused .

Don't worry everything will be fine, i promise. She said pulling me close for a reassuring hug.

Then suddenly someone rang the bell . When i went to check i was shocked to see.....

Luke what are you doing here and how did you get my address?. I asked in under one breath.

Hey can't i come and check on you or should i leave. He said about turning his back .

No, I'm sorry i... gosh, i haven't been alright lately. I said solemnly.

Oh would you like to tell me about it. He asked worriedly

No, its kinda personal.

OK so won't you invite me in.

Sorry come in.

Who is that. My mum asked.

Its my friend Luke from school.

Good day ma.

i'm fine thank you ma.

That's good to hear.

Mum please can i take a walk with Luke.

Sure, you need it but don't stay long.

I won't.

When Luke and i were strolling we entered a forest full of flowers, tall trees and every were looked so beautiful that i could stay here forever.

Would you like to play catch and throw?. Luke asked cutting me out of my thought.

I can try.

Then we started playing the game, he will throw the ball and I'll catch it, when it threw the ball at me this time i wasn't fast enough to catch it so it entered the bush, then i wandered into the bush looking for the ball then suddenly i saw someone running off  he wore a black pull over so i couldn't see his face, then i followed him wanting to know why he was running away, before i knew what was happening i didn't see him again, then i felt a leaf on my head and looked up seeing a big branch of tree about to fall on my head directly. I screamed, then i felt someone lifting me and carrying be away, then i became on conscious.
When i woke up, i saw the eyes that i always thought it could see through people then.......

Stanum is that you. I said in awe.

He turned his face away then i held him down.

Please look at me. I said, then he turned  slowly to look at me, his eye colour hasn't changed from red.

Your eyes what happened that it changed colour. I asked caressing his face gently, but he didn't answer only groaning i could see the pain he's going through, then  i looked  into his eyes.

I've been wanting to apologise to you for what happened the other day but i couldn't find you, i wish i could undo everything .

Suddenly my hand started glowing and noticed that the colour of stanum of his eyes changed from red to dark brown is normal eyes, then i felt his hands gripped me tightly.

Haaa i cried out (stanum took my hands away from his face.)

What the.... this mark on her hand resembles the mark on the necklace the old man gave me, so she has been the one I've been looking for all this while. Hmm i must make sure she's on my side.
Stanum then open my palm and kept a necklace that has exactly the design on my hand the he disappeared into the bush. Skylis, skylis where are you, Luke called out.

Oh my! he must have been looking for me, i quickly pocket the necklace and went to him. Sorry i took so long ?. I said.

I was worried.

I'm sorry.

It's OK let's get you home.

When i got home i told my mum about the encounter with stanum and showed her the necklace.

Mum do you know anything about this mark on my hand and this necklace.

I don't know either, but i guess if you go to Mr. Phillips place you might find something about it i think he also keeps ancient books apart from the modern ones in his library and they would likely be a book that talks about the mark. Mum suggested.

Then i went to my room after dinner, i laid down on my bed remembering how the colour of stanum eyes changing from red to dark brown (his normal eye colour), i thought i could try something new but everything was to no avail then i slept off thinking of those eyes that feels it can see through you.

Next morning i set off to go to Mr. Phillips house, i knocked on his door. Then an old man in his mid-seventies opened the door.

Hello there, how may i be of help to you ? He asked sweetly.

Sir please i need to check out for something in your library. I asked nicely.

OK come in. They are thousands of books that goes with different stages like the modern ones, the recent ones or the ancient ones, so which one are you based on. He explained asking the one i'm searching for.

The ancient one sir.
