Let's Stay Like This, Forever

The events that had happened yesterday swarmed Junmyeon's mind. He knew that he was only trying to examine his features, but something about his smooth hands and fingertips (and the closeness, of course) made his heart skip a beat or two. It was like being a teenager all over again.

A sleepless night followed him after that. Thoughts of what these feeling that he'd experienced during a span of 60 seconds. He probably felt a hundred different emotions- no, a thousand! Whether it was love, shock or just simply joy... He thought about it for hours with no end. Junmyeon didn't only wonder about his own feelings, but Kyungsoo's as well. He must feel lonely, he thought. To suddenly lose sight. To never see the captivating sunsets again. "There's... a certain beauty in that loneliness." He mumbled, not thinking twice about what he was blabbering about. Perhaps, it was all nonsense. At last, sunlight seeped through the curtains of the room. The color of warmth that somehow faded away with every second. It had already turned cold, once they'd woken up.

Sparrows were chirping outside. The wind blew the intricate snowflakes left and right, up and down. It seemed like Kyungsoo and Junmyeon were going to expect a cold and white Christmas. A numbing temperature was all Kyungsoo felt as he sat up from his bed. He listened closely to the sounds outside of his room. "Seems like he isn't up yet." He breathed and knocked on the wall to wake the older up. Soon enough, thuds could be heard from the other side of the wall. Was he frightened? No, he's probably just putting on some clothes.

As fast as the lightning from the Greek gods, Junmyeon dashed into the other room.

"Kyungsoo! Good morning!" Junmyeon panted.

"Are you tired?"

"What? No. Not at all!" I just spent the entire night thinking about you.

"Oh. I see." Kyungsoo mumbled.

"I'll make some breakfast."

Junmyeon took a gentle grip on Kyungsoo's hands, leading him out of his warm bed. Stand up, arms up, leg up. The usual routine for him. Nothing was new.

There they were, at the table. Having noodles for breakfast.

"Hyung, I can't really see the noodles."

"Here, open your mouth-"

"Ah-"

Junmyeon's heart almost bursted its way out of ribcage as he pinched his chopsticks together. Fuck, fuck. What is this feeling? He's pretty sure that this wasn't a normal feeling. "Come on you're just helping. That's your job." Junmyeon thought and watched closely as the wooden sticks softly applied themselves onto the younger's lips.

Love? Is that it? Is he the answer? His recent sleepless nights and heart skipping must be it. Once he'd seen him open the door and speak so innocently, he had the feeling of a sudden trance that just locked himself onto him. His voice and his trust, even in the dark cave that he's surrounded in. Even for Kyungsoo- that was the case as well. He'd been imagining his face ever since they'd met. His voice, as mellow as the first snow. His movements, fluid as the sea. His soul, as pure as a diamond.

A few seconds felt like an eternity of happiness. He wanted to stay like this forever if he could. Stay by his side, as if they were meant for each other. Stuck like puzzle pieces, brought together by fate.

By night, they'd been sitting in the sofa for hours, watching some movies. It was weird for both for them to listen to them describe sceneries for those who couldn't see. Junmyeon stole some close glances at him from time to time, seeing him sit stiffly.

"Hey, Kyungsoo."

"Yeah?"

"I just... Can I move closer?"

"You don't have to ask, Hyung."

From the edge of the sofa, Junmyeon moved closer as he asked for. His orbs focused onto Kyungsoo who was probably focused on imagining the movie in his head. Junmyeon was all too flustered about the closeness to even care about the movie. The temperature rose, though Junmyeon was the only one who felt it. His face was colored red, tantamount of the softness of the scarlet sky in the break of dawn. "Is it me or is it warm in here?" Junmyeon asked. "No, not really. It's winter." Kyungsoo answered stoically. Suddenly, Kyungsoo had turned around and placed his cold hands onto the other's cheek.

"Oh. You're hot."

"I know right-"

"Lame."

"Sorry, but yeah I'm feeling kind of warm."

"Are you sick?"

"I-I don't think so?"

His hands slowly made their way up to his forehead, where the temperature seemed to be around the same. Kyungsoo stood up, or attempted to. He wobbled around, trying to navigate his way to his room. "Kyungsoo, where are you going?" Junmyeon asked, slowly rising himself from his seat. "To get a blanket for you." Kyungsoo answered, again very shortly and straightforwardly. "I could do that myself, you know." Junmyeon replied back, following Kyungsoo and holding his forearms. The assistant gulped, looking down at him. Abruptly, Kyungsoo had brought himself in for a small embrace. "I'll be your blanket then." He said, in a very clichéd manner. "Where'd you get that move from? The movie?" He asked. "Uh. Hey, if it makes you feel better then it doesn't matter?"

"Everyone has this dream at least once
Even your name makes my heart flutter
I'm falling deeper and deeper
Like a child seeing the world for the first time
The unknown mystery that is you,

I want to get to know one by one
Teach me what love is."
