Background: Hello again! Okay, so this is a bit of an older story. Like I said my writing as of now is just a hobby and I create some universes based on a few "what ifs?" of mine. Warning there is death in this being that it is a robot bug attack. This definitely is more sci-fish, but I still hope you enjoy!

Sirens blaired overhead as a young brunette haired woman held her two children closer to her. There were blaster shots ringing all around as well as wings sounding like airplanes flying overhead. Then, everything went dead silent. The woman raised her head, heart pounding in her chest and blood roaring in her ears. Without looking at her children she then finally spoke.

"Stay in the house. Dylan watch your sister."

"But mommy! I wanna come too!!!"

"Dylan Michael stay in the house and watch your sister!!!"

The woman then immediately regretted yelling, seeing that she made her ten year old son jump and tears fill his eyes. Of course she came off much more harsh than she had meant to, being that her nerves were through the roof as it was. She then bent down and hugged the both of them quickly.

"I'm sorry I yelled..I just don't want you two to get hurt. I'm going to see if I can find daddy..please stay in the house.."

Her son then nodded. "O-Okay mommy.."

The woman managed a feeble smile before rising to her feet. Freeing herself from the nest of blankets she had been under with her children only a few minutes before. With shaking hands she grabbed the spare blaster in the closet, took a deep breath, and opened the door.

Immediately the chilly Autumn air hit her, and she wrapped her gray jacket more tightly around her shoulders. Her legs felt like stones as she slowly made it outside, closing the door tightly behind her. Finally taking in the scenery around her, she looked around horrified at what she was witnessing.

There were dead robot bugs littered everywhere she looked and houses were torn up, but the worst thing of all were the bodies of the fallen lying in the street. Family members and friends now came outside to look at the damage, some crying over the bodies, others searching for loved ones like she was. The woman couldn't believe that this was reality..it felt to her that this should only be possible in a science fiction movie.

Somehow she snapped herself out of her thoughts and willed her legs to move again. She then made her way slowly around the town, looking for any signs of her husband. At one point she saw a young boy who couldn't have been younger than Dylan. He had black hair and blue eyes. He appeared to be looking for her parents, who must've been out fighting the bugs.

"Poor dear.." She murmured under her breath. "I hope he finds them.."

She then kept moving, walking down Sycamore Avenue, blaster at the ready. Then, after a half an hour, she saw him lying there, unmoving. The woman's heart then began to pound in her chest more rapidly.

"RICHARD!" She yelled as she ran up to him. She kneeled beside him, throwing the blaster on the ground next to her. "Richard it's me! Richard!!!"

She then noticed that he didn't appear to be breathing, and when she felt his pulse, she could find none.

"No.." She whispered, raising her shaking hands to her mouth. "Oh Richard.."

"Mommy!" She heard a small voice yell, and immediately Dylan was at her side, Chelsay running behind him.

"Dylan Michael and Chelsay May I thought I told you to stay in the house!!!"

Then, she saw Dylan look at Richard, and immediately his eyes filled with tears.

"Daddy?.." Dylan said feebly, trying to shake his father's shoulder, but his father didn't stir. Immediately Dylan grabbed his mother's arm and began sobbing. Chelsay soon followed after, finally realizing what was going on.

The woman held them close to her, feeling like crying herself, yet she didn't. She then nearly jumped out of her skin whenever she heard a loud wail. Her eyes then focused on the street a little ways down and saw the same little boy from earlier, crying over the bodies of his parents. She felt her heart break for him as two women who appeared to be nurses came over to him. One of them picked him up and took him off to where a makeshift tent was pitched a little ways down the road. She could see the boy sobbing helplessly into her shoulder.

Then, the second woman made eye contact with her, and came over. The woman wrapped a blanket around the brunette's shoulders and helped her to stand. The brunette let her, being that she was too in shock to do much else.

"Hi there dear, why don't you come with me? Bring your children too." She said as all four began walking toward the tent. "So..may I have your name please? First and last?"

"Sarah.." The brunette haired woman managed to croak. "Sarah Myers.."
