Mike: Hey, what's up??

Sam: so right before work, I got a call from my dad

Mike: yeah?

Sam: and he told me that my mom was - she was just *sobbing*

Mike: aww Sammy, it's ok

Sam: no it's not Mike, she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, SCLC

*silence*

Mike: oh honey..

Sam: I wanted to tell you first

Mike: oh god, Sammy

Sam: *Sniffling* it's ok

Mike: no it's not! Your mom's the most beautiful woman I know, next to you of course. She isn't going to die Sammy, I promise

Sam: I have to go
