When we first started to live together we weren't alone. The tiny three bedroom house was packed with parents, sisters, us, cats and the two dogs. When we lost Caesar it was difficult. At least Abby was able to say goodbye too.
With Caesar gone a new addition was added. Saber. He was a small orange abandoned ball of fluffy. I somehow convinced you that we should keep him. He filled the gap in my heart and still does. He was sweet and loved to sleep with us. Slaggy loved him too. They still cuddle and keep warm.
But me living with you in that tiny house. With all those people. I put a noose around your neck.
The pressure from your parents doubled. The house was crowded and uncomfortable. A strange girl was sleeping in your bed. Abandoned by her parents. How many more lonely homeless things could they take in?
I worked, and you search. Your brother married and your friendship with someone revived. In that revival, was a blessing. A quite promise of a job in a bigger town two mountains away.
The first plan was for you to go and me to follow in the next year. That didn't happen though huh? They didn't want the strange girl to stay. So I got a job in the city with you. I failed on at your job but I succeed at the Candy Store. They hired me almost immediately.
In December we got our first apartment with a friend. I didn't pay much towards anything. I was relaxed and thin. But things would soon change. Fear and insecurities would set in.
