Chapter 8:Why Us?

"Ty's POV"

One minute I was smiling and skating across the street.The next minute I was on the ground with my skateboard right beside me.I rubbed off the gravel and I turned around.When I turned though,I saw the most horrifying thing....

Amanda getting hit by a car.

I saw the car slam on it's brakes,but it didn't do it fast enough.Amanda got hit and fell to the ground hard.I ran over to her as fast as I could,and nelt beside her.She had cuts and some bruises here and there.I started to cry a little,but I shook her.Karla and the rest of the guys ran over to see if she was ok."Amanda,please wake up,please!" I said while shaking her.I listened to see if she had a heartbeat and she did,but it was really slow.I looked around and saw her phone.I grabbed it and dialed 911.They said that the ambulances would be there in a few minutes.

I picked Amanda up,and held her.I couldn't lose her,not now.I heard sirens and I ran over to one of the ambulances.One of the workers ran over and helped me place Amanda on a stretcher."What exactly happened,sir?" One of the medics asked."We were all walking,but me and her were skating.I was skating across the street,when she pushed me.I turned around and she got hit by a car." I said crying now.The medic nodded and motioned us to come in the ambulance.We all hopped in,and started to drive to the hospital.

I looked at the rest of them and they were crying too.Especially Karla,she was balling her eyes out,while Sky comforted her,but he was still crying too.I looked over at Mitch who was crying in Jerome's shoulder.I then just looked back at Amanda.She looked so beat up.I started to think that this was my fault.Why couldn't I be the one who could've got hit,instead of her?I started to cry into my hands,thinking about how our life was going so well,until now.I heard the medics say that we would be at the hospital in 30 minutes.So,I decided to lay down while we drove.I grabbed Amanda's hand and held it tightly.I then closed my eyes,but said one more thing in my mind,before i fell asleep crying.

"Why did it had to have happened now?Just when we thought our lives were getting back on track,this happened......Why Us?"

"Time Skip to Hospital"

I waked up once we stopped.I sat up and rubbed my eyes.I kept them closed and pinched myself,hoping that this was all a dream.I then opened them,only to see I was still in the ambulance holding Amanda's hand.I started to cry again,and looked over to the others,who had fallen asleep.Except Mitch was still awake,holding Amanda's other hand.He looked up at me,and his face was covered in tears and he looked stuffy.I stood up,and walked over to him and patted his back.

We started to wake up the others,and started climbing out of the ambulance.The medics pushed Amanda into the hospital,and placed her in a room.They started hooking wires to her,so they could see if she was ok.They said her breathing was starting to come back to normal and that once she waked up,she could go home.We all felt a little happier about that,but that soon ended.

Her heart meter started to drop and things started beeping.The medics started trying to get Amanda's heart rate back up,and told us to wait in the waiting area.I started crying and said I wouldn't leave.I got dragged out by Sky and Mitch,as they closed the curtains on her room.I just stood there infront of my friends.

I then dropped to my knees,and started crying into my hands.I couldn't believe this was happening to us.Sky and Mitch picked me up and sat me in a chair beside them.They were all now putting their head in their hands,like I was.We sat there,waiting to see if Amanda was ok.I decided I'd call up me and Amanda's old friend from 7th grade,Caitie Hurt.She had texted me and told me she moved back here,and would be going to our school now,but only for one year since she was a senior.

I started texting her,to see if she would come to the hospital.

T=Ty C=Caitie

T:Hey Caitie,long time no see!

C:Oh hey Ty! Its' been so long,how's it going?

T:Not good at all... :'(

C:Oh,what's wrong?Anything I can do to help,like come to your house to cheer you up maybe?

T:Actually,I need you to come to the hospital,like now plz.

C:OMG what happened?! Is everything alright?

T:I'll explain once you get here,just plz hurry.

C:I'll be there in a few,peace.

T:Bai

I placed my phone down and looked back up to Amanda's room.A doctor came out,and we all stood up and walked over to him."Is Amanda ok Doctor?" I asked with tears in my eyes,but also hope.The doctor looked at me with a sad look,and he looked back down at his clipboard."We were able to get Amanda's heart rate back up,but there's one problem..." He stopped and sighed.We all looked worried and just as he was about to speak again,I heard Caitie calling for us.She ran up to us in exaction."I'm here now what's going on?" She asked with a worried look.I explained to her about how Amanda got hit by the car,and she listened carefully,but at the end she started crying.We went and sat back down,but the doctor came over too."Do you want to know the problem with Amanda now?" He asked.We all nodded our head,and prepared for the worse.

Welp,that's it for now! I know you guys are gonna hate me for the cliffhanger,but plz dont throw squids at me! I have a budder sword and I'm not afraid to use it! Well,I updated but your gonna have to wait a couple of days before the next one,cause i only have 2 DAYS OF SCHOOL LEFT! WOOHOO!!
