Chapter 1

This is a world where there are element Benders. Earth,Water, Air and Fire. They keep their abilities as a secret and carry on ordinary human lives.

Ethan's POV

I woke up, by my own, surprisingly without the help of my penguin-alarm clock. I named him Mr.Bubbs when I was 5. I lazily woke up, thinking that I woke up earlier than usual. Then I looked at my side table, '7:06 a.m.' was clearly displayed on Mr.Bubbs' belly. 'sHIT IM LATE' I screamed to myself.

I got up, took a brisk shower and sprayed a heck lot of deodorant on not only my armpits, but also on my hair. I took a pair of black-ripped skinny jeans and pulled on a black long sleeved shirt. I folded the sleeves right up to the crook of my arms and didn't bother to do my hair.

I ran downstairs straight to the front door, that's when I smelled my mom's delicious pancakes. I was already late but I just couldn't resist the smell. I turned around and sprinted to the kitchen.

That's when I saw my dad sitting at the dining table, drinking his coffee while looking at his phone, I immediately turned around and heard my dad clear his throat,

"Where were you last night?", my dad asked.

"Uhm I went to a party", I answered carefully.

I glanced over to the stove and saw my mom pouring the last batch of pancake batter onto the pan, but I knew that she was listening to the small conversation that was going on. I could see her enjoying this when I saw her lips forming to a small smile.

I heard my dad sigh, "look I don't mind you going to these parties, you're already 17, but won't you just finish yout job first?"

"I thought Benders were meant to save this world from evil or something like that. Not doing charity work", I groaned.

"Mrs. Christine expected you to be at her house at 8 pm last night and you ditched her. This morning her sink blew up on her and she was covered in grime.", my dad said with a serious tone. Which was odd to hear because he's actually quite laid back.

"Look, I'll unclog her sink later tonight okay? I'm already late to school."

I reached over to grab a pancake, thinking that our conversation was over but then,

"Young man you are going to unclog it right now, if you don't I will confiscate your pendant."

Pendants are important for Benders. They give you an extra little-forget little, they boost you a hell lot of power making you put less effort in bending. Each Bender gets their own pendant at a shrine as soon as they are born.

I dropped my pancake and turned over to my mom,

"Where's Chris?" I asked, referring to my one-year younger sister.

"She left early because you got up late."

'That bitch', I thought to myself. If she were late and I didn't wake her up, she'll scream at me like the Banshee she is, and she just ditches me when it happens to me? Oh she's going to get an earful once she comes back.

I ran to the door, and rode my bicycle to Mrs. Christine's house which was only 8 houses away from mine.

She opened up the door with an unpleasant face. She had a mole on her cheek and her face was so badly wrinkled.

"Oh so now you finally come", she rolled her eyes.

If she weren't a 50 year old grandma, I would have sassed her to the point where she will beg at ME to make a comeback for HER. I stayed polite and apologised to her. I made my way to her kitchen and opened the cabinets revealing the pipes for her sink. I looked left and right, to see if anyone was around. There was no one. I lifted my finger and called out for the spirits of H2O to help me out. My fingers were twitching and I saw some water dripping from my fingers.
