Chapter 6 - The Potion

Chapter 6 – The Potion

3rd person:

Britney’s hurt and feel betrayed, when she sits down. When Evy sees Brit’s hurt face from a distance, she walks to her and sits down next to her. Laying her hand on Brit’s arm, she asks what’s wrong. Brit shakes her head, stands up and grabs Evy’s hand. Together they walk to their room.

Just when Brit is about to tell Evy, she remembers something. “Have you already figured at what happened?”

Evy shakes her head and asks her to tell what happened. Brit sighs “it’s Marcus.” When Brit says that, Evy wonders what could’ve happened to make Brit so hurt. They like each other so much, at least that’s what she thought. Seeing the question on Evy’s face, Britt answers her unasked question.

“He cheated on me. With some Gryffindor whore. Could it be any worse?! Something like… God, I don’t even know the name. I saw them kissing, he was touching her in inappropriate ways.” Evy gasps and stares with shock on her face at Brit. She really thought that they really really liked each other. Brit shrugs.

“How could he, Brit?! I thought he really liked you.” Britt swallows and closes her eyes for a few seconds before opening them again.

“Yeah, I thought he liked me too. But apparently he didn’t. He probably just used me. I’ll get my revenge. But enough about me, have you figured out what happened already?”

Evy has been researching all day to find out what happened with her that night, but she couldn’t come to a conclusion. She sighs “I don’t know. I’ve been searching all day. Even yesterday.”  

Brit sighs and says “I’m going to help you. Let’s go to Snape.” Evy nods hesitant and they walk together to Snape’s office. The only one who could help them would be him, since he’s the potion teacher. Brit nods on the door and a few seconds they hear a faint ‘come in’. Evy opens the door and walks inside – Brit follows. Snape scowls when he sees the girls.

“What do you want?” The girls look at each other and Evy decides to tell the story about why she came here. Snape nods and grabs his Potion book. He looks through it for a while, while the girls wait.

After a few minutes Snape apparently found the potion, because he gets to work. Brit sighs irritated, it’s taking so damn long. An hour later Snap finishes the potion and he gives it to Evy.

“Drink up. It’s supposed to let you remember everything. Even everything you forgot when you were little. It’s a very powerful potion, don’t drink too much. Just sip it.” Evy nods and they take the potion with them to their room. Brit smiles reassuringly.

“Are you ready to remember everything?” Evy nods at Brit’s question. She raises the potion to her mouth and sips it. The last thing she sees is Brit’s face, before everything turns black.

Brit gasps when Evy falls backwards, her eyes rolling. She runs to the hospital wing and calls for help. Two women run with her to her room and they take Evy back with them to the wing. Brit runs after the women and sits down next to the bed where they put Evy. Her breath is uneven and she feels tears running down her cheeks. She suddenly feels a hand on her shoulder. She turns around and sees Marcus. She glares at him.

“Stay away from me, you cheating bastard.” Marcus closes his eyes and shakes his head. He feels so much regret. He knows that he shouldn’t have kissed the Gryffindor bitch; he doesn’t even remember her name. He lowers himself to her level, grabs her hand and whispers

“I’m sorry Brit. Please forgive me. I have no idea why I did it.” Brit shakes her head. She can’t believe that this was his way of apologizing; with her best friend laying on the bed right next to them. It’s unbelievable. She pushes him away and he falls backwards.

“Leave me alone Marcus. Apologizing doesn’t fix anything. Show me that you regret it. Maybe I’ll take you back, maybe I won’t. Now show some respect towards my best friend lying in this hospital bed and leave.” Marcus nods. He stands up, kisses her forehead softly and walks away – with tears in his eyes. He probably should start thinking about ideas.

Looking at her best friend who’s so weak and pale lying there in the hospital bed, she has to know what happened. She stands up and whispers in her best friend’s ear “I’m going to figure out why you’re here. I’m getting my answers straight off Snape.”

She quickly exits the room and almost runs towards Snape’s office. She throws the door open, without knocking and glares at the man behind the desk.

“What did you do to that potion?!” she screams. Snape rolls his eyes.

“I warned you that it was a powerful potion. I can’t do anything about this. Now… what happened?” Brit sighs, knowing that it wasn’t the man’s fault. She sits down and puts her head in her hands.

“She fell backwards, right after she sipped the potion. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head.” Snape nods and laughs. Brit glares at the man, not knowing what’s so funny.

“That’s what was supposed to happen Britney. She’s going through everything right now in high speed. I can tell you exactly when she’s going to wake up. Go back to her tomorrow at midnight. She’ll be awake then.”

“Why didn’t you warn us? I thought that she was dying.” Snape shrugs and dismisses her with his hand. Brit rolls her eyes and was just about to leave the room, till she remembers something else. She turns back around and grabs the picture of the man out of her back pocket. She slams it onto his desk.

“Do you know who this man is?” Snape’s eyes widen when he sees the sketch. He swallows deeply and his eyes look everywhere, except for her eyes.

“You should stay away from him. Run as fast as you can when you see him. Also, don’t think about researching him. It won’t do you any good if you know who he is. Now leave.” Brit sighs, irritated that nobody answers her questions. She leaves the room, even more determined to find out who the man was. She decides to pay Hermione a little visit.
