Part Three

Time passed and, Alex became Ethel's best friend. They talked by the keep every day. A year when by this way, then Gigon became ill. Alex try every thing in his power to make him well once more but he couldn't. He when to Ethel for help. She got the town doctor to help. He gave Gigon the best of his medicine, he was doing better, he could walk again. The doctor said three more day and he would of died. He got better, and the doctor was payed by Alex.

Time passed once more, then a wealthy count from a northern province told the baron to hand over his kingdom or his daughter, the baron refused for was not going to had over his power. He had plans to marry his daughter to some one of higher rank. The count when to war, to punish the baron for not following his wishs.

Gigon and the most of the other knights where moved to the front. Alex found himself spending time in the war room learning about the war, then reporting the news to Ethel.

She was worried about the war, the count had recruited other provinces to fight. The baron was wining. He conquered the others and was dangerously close to the count. Things were going well so Gigon was sent home. He joined Alex at his guard post. Alex's life was good.

One day while Alex was talking to Ethel

in the keep. Then an army of the count launched a surprise attack on the village. They killed many people. The guards were over ran, At the first wall. Then they made it to Gigon's post. He fought with valor, Alex was watching Gigon's unit. Then he saw Gigon surrounded, he blocked three blows then was slain with the fourth. Alex was trying to leave to get to Gigon. When a guard called out:

"Young man where are you going? You have to stay here. We will guard the door. Do not open it for any one!"

Ethel took a sword when they left.

"Come with me, I know a way out of the keep. They will brake though soon." They took the way out. They ran though the the tunnels under the keep. And didn't look back. They came out at a farm house about a mile a way from the keep. They stayed there for a week. Alex mourned and Ethel comforted him. They swore to do things that would change the world.
