For the next few days, I've been stressing and stressing and STRESSING over getting this job or not. But thankfully, I have school to get my mind off it.
As I grab my coffee for the morning and head out the door, I see a U-Haul pulling in the house across the street.
"Finally someone bought that place it's been like a ghost house for years." My mother says walking out the door right behind me as she heads to work for the day
"I've been needing some new neighbors in my life" I sarcastically say to her as we both get in our cars to leave. I honk my horn a couple times to let my brother know I'm leaving and he comes running out the door half-dressed and half asleep.
" What the hell Josh? Next time you do this I'm leaving without you and YOU can explain to Mom and Dad how you don't want to ride the bus to school but refuse to wake up in the morning." I say to him while pulling out of the driveway, knowing that we'll barely make it on time because of him
"Whatever, cause then you can explain to our lovely parents why you walked through the door at 5 in the morning last week when you should have been sound asleep in your room." he says while trying to put his shoes on still
"Shut up. God you're so fucking annoying, I swear I can't wait till I leave for college" I snap at him, rolling my eyes as we pull into the parking lot at school.
"Later" he throws a peace sign at me while walking through the doors as I go to meet Sammy up front by the benches
Now Sammy, she's what you can call a wildcard. She can have her good days, and the minute someone pisses her off, she will literally end up destroying your self-esteem with hers in the process.
" Lennox get over here right now! This is a 911" she yells to me with a wide grin on her face. "Did ya hear we're getting a new kid today?"
"Oooh I love me some fresh meat!" I say casually sitting down with my back again the building, extending my legs across her lap "Name?"
She looks down at her phone and reads off a text "Reeve Connors it says" I lean over to see what she's looking at and its the class roster for this semester.
"Interesting, and I thought my name was different" I chuckled a little bit. "Come on, we gotta get to English, see who this 'Reeve' person is" I joke with her as I stand up and extend my hand to help her up.
When we get there, we sit at our desks talking for a bit. Then, Mr. Pritchard, our English teacher, comes in with a tall student coming in right behind him
New guy? I mouth to Sammy across the room as she runs to her assigned seat. She looks over at him, then back at me violently shaking her head up and down, confirming what I assumed.
"Alright boys and girls, it seems like we have a new student to add to your class" Mr. Pritchard says, "What's your name pal?"
"Hey, I'm Reeve and I think, that's its" he says with. A chuckle and a sly grin.
"Well, with the new semester starting, and a new student time to get a new seating schedule!" Mr. Pritchard says while the entire classroom groans
"We literally just picked seats last week P-Rich!" Sammi yells across the room at him.
"Wahh wahh wahh, that's all you do Benson, now do you have to be our sacrificial lamb and force me to get the paperwork started?" He says to her sarcastically. "Whatever dude" she says as she rolls her eyes whilewe all walk up to pick numbers for our new seats.
P-Rich is a total dickhead if you haven't figured it out yet, this potato Head looking dude calls detentions 'paperwork' and he's probably the rudest teacher I've ever met. So I try my absolute hardest to piss him off as much as possible, but the most hes done is sent me to sit in the hallway for the entire period.
One by one we pick our numbers and randomly get assigned to a seat. And I can't help but look over at the new guy leaning against the Whiteboard. It's almost as if he's pretending to be cooler than he is, he's not talking to anyone, just sitting on his phone smiling every once in awhile. His hair is almost perfectly disheveled, definitely being well built, he's not that bad to look at. As I'm gazing for a little too long I see him start to look over at me and I can't seem to turn away.
"Monroe, monrooooeeee, MONROE" P-Rich yells finally catching my attention. "What do you want Potato Head?" I groan at him, god his voice just annoys me.
"What are you doing over there? Are you going to stay in la-la land or are you going to pick a number and sit in a dang seat that's not mine?" He says staring at me in his spinny chair, I sit in it every day just to annoy him. Sometimes I go back to my desk sometimes he just stands for the entire class.
"Fine, #34? Where you placing me P-Rich?" I say and he points to the middle desks in front of me. "Mr. Connors I believe your number is next!" He says in a monotone voice.
"87?" He says. His voice is soft, and quiet, making me more curious about him.
"Ahh, right here next to pain in my neck #1" P-Rich says pointing right at me
Oh shit. I thought. I can see Sammy still waiting to pick her seat staring at me with her jaw dropped. My god she's gonna be on me hardcore for this.
"Sup pal" I say to him casually, as he takes his sit next to me
"Uh hi" he gently waves while putting headphones in, toning out the world.
As I sit up straight frowning a little bit, hoping for more conversation, I continue with the class wondering if this is what the year is gonna me like. Silence? Two parts in one day? Man I'm doing okay in my standards! While I know I don't currently have any reads I hope this is interesting enough to keep people entertained! Keep reading! I have a feeling this one is gonna be great! I just have to get introductions out of the way first!
