A Thousand Years (Rivetra AU)

Chapter 1

Author's POV

"Princess, the King wants to see you," a maiden in her late 30s ran after a ginger haired girl. The girl was running away from her babysitter to avoid being dragged back to the kingdom to do her duties. Despite, having a small physic, the girl was strong and fast, even though she had soldiers to risk their lives to save hers, the late queen told her that she should still train. 

"No, tell him that he can go see himself," she turned around and shouted back at her servant, who was shaking in fear. Scared of getting punished for not doing her duties.

"Maria, don't worry about the punishment if Father does anything to you, I'll deal with him," the girl shouted back as she finally reached her destination, the royal stable.

"Come'on gal, let's go for a run." She lifted the latch that kept her reckless horse caged in the fence. Pets really do seem to take after their owners, don't they? She had golden brown skin, similar to that of her owner's hair and had black hair. She was one of the fastest breed, Mustang.

Petra's POV:

I took Ginger out for fresh air. After all, the castle is quite suffocating. Being royalty, that's something I'll probably never get used to for my whole entire life. I really want to join the military to help protect the kingdom. After all, how can I rule a nation if I can't even protect it? But then again, there's all that crap about being a princess. Which I don't really give a damn about being royalty.

We reached the village, which somehow happens to be where the military, specifically, The Survey Corps. I passed my horse to one of my friends, Isabel. She was more than happy to help me take care of Ginger.

"Petra-san," her 5-year-old son Alex greeted me as he started to climb on Ginger. Thankfully, she was an obedient horse. She'd always bucked off many of the strangers that try to ride her. But if you get to know her and become close, she'll be a gentle horse.

"So Petra, have you gotten a boyfriend?" Isabel snickered at me. Geez, give the girl a break. Will Ya. She and I jolly well know the answer that I don't have one. Any 'potential' suitors that my father introduces were either fanboying about my looks or royalty. Which gets soooo irritating. Since all of them are douchebags or they are not compatible,

"Nah. I don't need one," I shrugged my shoulders. I am a proud independent woman. Not some clingy brat.

"Come on, you're already in your early thirties!!! You need to get a husband!!!" she screamed into my ears to make it clear. "Besides, I have a feeling you're going to get married soon, after all, you did catch that bouquet of flowers," she said it in a sing-song voice. Tch, catching the bouquet during hers and Farlan's wedding was just pure luck. Besides, I'm probably gonna be single for this entire life. Heck, it'll be a miracle if I even fall in love in this life.

"Meh," I shrugged my shoulders before thanking her again for taking care of Ginger.

Levi's POV:

Another day of killing titans. The last time these monsters appeared was about a thousand years ago. Tch, they're troublesome really troublesome. This time's expedition we lost quite a few lives, around 10 members died. They were most likely either scared or just shit.

Then there's all that shit about Commander Erwin is making me a Corporal. Which means more paperwork. On top of that, I'm supposed to pick my squad members today. Most of the newbies are pretty much useless piece of shit with asses that will most likely get eaten by titans. Which means it's a complete waste of time. However, there are a few good candidates according to Four-eyes. One of them is a she. Apparently, she's top of her class both in the field and in studies. But she's wasting her golden years fighting for humanity when she could die at any moment.

Petra's POV

"Did you hear Levi Heichou is going to pick four of us to be his squad members," crazy girl no.1 fangirls.

"Yeah totally!!! I want him to pick me," crazy girl no.2 tells no.1. The both of them squeal about Levi Heichou like he's some sort of god. Like sure he's good looking but that's it. It's not like they know him beneath those looks.

"It would be a dream come true if Heichou picks me, he's my crush" crazy girl no.3 joins in the conversation. Before you know it almost all the girls are fangirling about their 'crush'.  Heck, that's not even a crush, it's shallow. I rolled my eyes, these girls just join the military to be with their 'crush'. They probably just die in reality when fighting the Titans.

"Look there he is," crazy girl no.?? points out Heichou's appearance, her eyes full of 'love'. Everyone starts standing in an orderly arrangement while Levi Heichou takes a seat. Is it just me or does Heichou look short? Judging by the fangirls reaction, drooling, I'd say it's just me.

"When I call out your name, please step forward," he said in a stoic tone. Geez, it is not like everyone finds this boring so stop being such an emo.

"Eld Jinn," a guy long blond hair and a small beard stepped out and saluted the captain.

"Gunther Schultz," he had a short crop of brown hair and looked really serious, not too serious.

"Oluo Bozado," so that's the creep that stalks me during training. Wait a minute, he's trying to look like Levi Heichou. Meh, probably Levi is his idol. Man, I feel bad for these guys, they got to deal with him.

"Petra Ral," Eh? Did I hear that correctly? I stepped out and place my right fist over my left chest and saluted Corporal. Part of me was happy while the other part... meh.

"That's all. All of you disperse," I quickly left the training grounds and sprinted to Isabel's home. I've got to get back to the castle fast or father will suspect something.

"Is that her?"

"Yeah, it is,"

"I don't see what Heichou sees in her,"

"I can do way better than her,"

"Do you think she seduce Heichou to get him to accept her?"

It didn't really care what they said, after all, if they're so good, then come fight me for the spot. Seducing the captain? That's just downright dirty. Well, haters gonna hate and fakers gonna fake.
