I went through my routine, bacon, cereal, clothes, and checked my lip. It was still sore the little shit. I started walking to school and as I got to the long sidewalk before going to the actual school. Scott was standing there, holding his phone in front of him, showing empty text screen thing.

"Hello."

"You forgot." Dammit, he noticed.

"What?"

"You forgot to text me, so today I'm walking with you inside."

"I'm not ten." I was walking, and he turned around to walk beside me.

"Well don't forget tonight then."

"Come on, its like you're my mother."

"I wouldn't have to nag you if you texted me."

"You should of stayed away."

"Why? I'l get beat up? I'm stronger then I seem."

"She has goons."

"Who is this she?"

"Nevermind."

"Tell me!"

"Nope."

"Fine then Miss Never Again, I''l find out myself." We walked in silence for a bit, and I took out a matchbook. Scott being here with me was wierd, but I would have to get used to it I guess. I took out a match, struck it, and let it burn until it was almost to my fingers. I flicked it to the ground, and smiled slightly. Smiling wouldn't hurt anymore, my lip had healed over a lot more from yesterday. "Do you do that a lot?" he asked me.

"Yeah, its fun."

"I know you now!" he jumped in the air, ran forward a bit, and did a fist pump. "You're Lydia Hayden! Oh.... I will get beat up won't I?"

"Told you."

"I also know who will beat me up, how they will, thier weaknesses, thier leader, and first aid."

"Are you really goi--"

"I'm going to walk home with you!"

"Don--"

"Don't tell me differently Lydia, I can do this! I've never been in a fight before." He was smiling, and skipping? Oh god, he's a skipper. I grabbed his hands as he turned to me, and he shut up, clearly seeing the concern in my eyes. "Scott, I'm sorry, you can't." I let go of his hands, and start walking again. "I don't want you to get hurt, they already have a hundred pounds on you, you can't fight them. You understand of course?"

"Fine Lyd. I know your nickname now too! Lyd!" Oh God.  I openly sighed. "We could run you know. Run away from them, run faster."

"I can't run fast, and I'm considered a whimp if I run. They would just keep coming after us." I looked at Scott. "Why aren't you scared of them?" It was a rare moment. He wouldn't tell me something. We were close to the school and walked in together. I turned to go to my locker and class, he turned in the other direction and said to me "See you later Lyd."
