Naruto was at the border of sand and river, he decided to open the second scroll before he entered sand, just so he could be more prepared for whatever may lie in wait for him. Going through the motions he opened the scroll and read the passage.
You have learned to unlock your chakra but now you must learn to use it, basic chakra theory states that it is made of physical and mental energies, that when combined can make a multitude of things happen whether it be a fireball, an illusion, or strengthening objects such as muscles and swords. The first level of chakra control is to get a leaf to stick to your forehead, to master it you have to have it there for an hour without faltering, although I only expect you to get to ten sminutes as of right now, as that is what is expected of newly minted genin, twenty for a Chunin, and 40 for a Jounin, these are benchmarks so you know how far your skills are progressing, however when you get to a hidden village open the third scroll, it has a pass for you to get into any village without much hassle.
Naruto walked over to a tree and pulled a leaf off and put it on his head and focused his chakra to his head, it was disintegrated instantly, he tried again, only to receive the same results, this was going to take a while.
---------------------------------------------------------
Sarutobi looked into the room as Anko had started torturing him, the man deserved everything he was getting, "What all did he do to Naruto?" Ibiki looked at his kage before listing off the crimes, "He had been the one to pull out Naruto's eye, and had participated in the skinning and denailing of the child, along with many of the puncture wounds, he is receiving a similar torture before being put in chakra cuffs and thrown in jail." Sarutobi nodded, "and the accomplices?"
"Being systematically found, and detained at this moment, we have two squads of ANBU on it at this moment." Sarutobi nodded, "Good, I will make these people fear me as the god of Shinobi, the professor is stepping down, I'm not going to be pushed around any longer." Ibiki nodded with a grin on his face, the Hokage he respected was going back in the chair, it would be a nice change of pace for everyone, and a great wake up call for the civilians.
---------------------------------------------------------
Naruto looked at the small pile of broken leaves he had, most being disintegrated or just shredded, although there were a few that we only slightly cut up and one currently on his forehead, he could hold it for thirty seconds before it tended to break into many tiny pieces, he needed more practice, that he was sure of but it was evening and Naruto wanted to make it to Suna before nightfall, he had heard about the sub zero temperatures in the desert at night, he had to get moving now. With that in mind he had started off into the desert, leaving the oasis that was river country far behind him.
---------------------------------------------------------
It had been hours, the sun had set and the desert was quickly freezing Naruto was shaking, the light clothing he was wearing was not suitable for the desert cold, he trudged through the sand, the frigid wind biting through his clothing, stinging, his arms and legs went numb his vision started going blurry as he swayed, left and right, before everything went black, and he layed there for hours on end.
---------------------------------------------------------
When Naruto came to he was in a cave, his vision still blurry he wiped the sand out of his eyes, the first thing he saw was stalactites hanging, threatening his life if it broke, he then looked around and was greeted by the sight of his bag of scrolls and wallet, however after looking around some more he noticed a person, a man in many layers of clothing of desert clothing, the only distinct feature he could see was one golden eye, the other seemed to be ripped out and Naruto smiled, someone who knew the same pain of having an eye torn out, may this was the right direction for his travels.
As he was lost in his thoughts the man spoke up, "I see you have woken up young one, what's your name?" Naruto was instantly on guard, his trust of people was few and far between consisting of the Hokage and himself. "And why would you want that?"
The man recognized the guarded language before chuckling, "Well, I saved you from freezing to death and becoming a meal for whatever is out there, I just wanted to know who it is that I had saved..." naruto nodded, it was only fair he supposed.
"My name is... Ryu, what about you?" The man chuckled, clearly the kid thought of the name on the spot, "the name's Solomon, you shouldn't be traveling the desert in such thin clothing, where are you from Ryu?"
"Konoha... but I had to leave, I chose Suna because it was an ally of Konoha that wasn't aware of who I am to the citizens of Konoha." Naruto realizing he said too much quickly silenced himself.
"Oh? And who exactly are you to be important to Konoha civilians?" Naruto looked him in the eye, "That's... not something I'm willing to divulge, I don't need more hate." The man nodded in understanding, "Hate? Hmm you are young, not even in your teens clearly, so you wouldn't be a ninja or ex ninja... but Konoha was attacked by the fox just under ten years ago... you'd be the jinchuuriki of the nine tailed fox to garner hate from civilians wouldn't you?" Naruto unsheathed his sword and pointed it in the direction of Solomon. The man chuckled at the amateur swordsman ship and badly crafted sword.
"I don't hate you for what you hold, in fact I respect you for it... my grandson was turned into a jinchuuriki, unfortunately he's unstable however, as sun has terrible fuinjutsu users, only puppet masters learn it and their sealing skills are mediocre at best compared to some people... in fact I heard that the Uzumaki clan were masters of fuinjutsu, it was comparable to breathing until the highest levels..." instantly he caught Narutos attention, "Uzumaki clan?... what do you know about them? Where are they?..."
"Slow down speedster, I can't keep up in my old age, now why would you want to know about the Uzumaki clan?" "Be... because although I am an orphan I've always had the last name Uzumaki, I want to know if I really have family..."
"Figured you were Uzumaki, it's assumed that only an Uzumaki can hold the nine tails inside them as the only other two jinchuuriki of it have been Uzumaki, something to do with their massive chakra that is as dense as water, at least that's what I heard...
It would make sense as the last jinchuuriki of it had an ability known as chakra chains, could even hold back the fox with them..."
"You still haven't answered my questions..." the man signed for a bit, it would be hard to learn you had family and then lost it all.
"The Uzumaki clan was one of the most feared clans, even though they were a peaceful people, they lived in one of the most protected places in the world, Uzushiogakure, a small island with eternal whirlpools surrounding it and seals that were unbreakable from the outside..."
Naruto looked away, "You're speaking in past tense... I assume they are no more?"
The man sadly nodded, it was in the third great Shinobi war, Suna had been cut off from Konoha by an assault by a handful of minor villages, it was enough that they couldn't get information to Konoha about the attack on their allies and the white fang had just had his crushing defeat, losing his charge, the information, and going through with seppuku, leaving the plans for the attack straight from the Mizukages desk in enemy hands, the Uzumaki were not the only clan living on that island, the Kaguya, Yuki, and Hozuki, however the Kaguya and Hozuki betrayed the Uzumaki and Yuki, deactivating the seals that kept intruders out and safely leading the enemy ships through the whirlpools in the dead of night, it was this initial blow that would spell destruction for the Uzumaki, with 75% of their forces put into this attack Kiri, Iwa, and Kumo were sure this plan would be in their favor, the battle lasted three days, and four nights, the handful of  Uzumaki and Yuki that escaped were the young and the elderly, but the battle at Uzu had killed off most of the enemy forces, leaving less than 20% with that in mind Konoha forced them into a neutrality treaty lest they face destruction."
"I... I see so my clan is down to just me than..." there was an awkward silence before he continued, "could you... could you show me on a map where they lived... so I can pay my respects?" The man nodded as he pulled out his map of the elemental countries.
"The village of Uzushio is off the coast of fire country, not far from wave right over here" He pointed to a small island about fifteen kilometres north of wave. "That's where the island is, tell me kid, since you are a jinchuuriki are you a ninja?" Naruto frowned, "I'm not technically a ninja because I didn't register with a ninja village due to violence of shinobi and civilians... but I'm learning ninja skills like taijutsu and kenjutsu so I can at least protect myself." The man nodded in understanding, the lives of jinchuuriki were rougher than any other, their happiness and sanity were the sacrifices to be a container, "So if your not a ninja you are just traveling, how are you training?"
Naruto grabbed his bag and pulled out a scroll and tossed it to him, "I am... was good friends with the Hokage when I left, he gave me some money and scrolls to help me on my way." The man frowned, "tell me, Ryu, you don't have anyone to teach you so you don't get the scrolls slightly off and mess up, would you like someone to accompany you to help you learn your techniques?"
"Are you offering?" Solomon nodded, "I'm no longer a shinobi, I retired some forty odd years ago to raise my pride and joy Rasa, he was skilled in the arts of ninjutsu able to utilize magnet release to a fairly high extent using gold sand, although when he became the Kazekage he became a darker and more vile person than I could have expected, as such I left the village after handing in my ninja registration, but that doesn't mean I don't know my stuff, and besides I've always wanted to take on another apprentice..."
"You said you have a grandson like me earlier yes?" Solomon nodded, "and you claimed Uzumaki learn fuinjutsu easily?" Another nod, "How about we go get him and then go on our way to Uzushio, a secluded place is great for training." Solomon nodded, "a good idea, however I'm not sure how rasa will take his son being taken, he is still of my bloodline, one that happens to be almost worshipped in Suna so it may be hard to get him to leave willingly." Naruto frowned, "By politics or force a jinchuuriki doesn't deserve to be in a place like a hidden village, at least in my opinion." Solomon nodded, "Well than, what are we waiting for?" A stomach growl was his response...
