Blasts of blood and dirt fly into my face as I stand in shock of what is happening right in front of my eyes. People I know and love, falling to the ground with the life sucked out of them. War, this is what war will do to my home.

Jolting up in shock with sweat trailing down my body, I turn towards Ki-a who has a clipboard in hand ready to ask questions.

"So what will become of this ever-growing fight between armies?" Ki-a asked with a noticeable worry in his voice.

Staring at him with scared eyes I mutter, "Destruction."

Ki-a writes down the results and hurries to a soldier sitting a few metres away from my bed that was willing to participate in the Academics study. He starts tearing up as he shows Head Academic Toi-a the final results from each of the 200 participants. He and Head Academic Toi-a go into another room to piece everything else together. I get up from my bed and look at the clipboard laying on one of the side tables, there is only one word repeated by every single participant: Destruction.

Destruction, destruction, destruction...

Those results from earlier are consuming my mind, this can't be our future right? The appearance of everyone around me wasn't much older than they already are, I have to be ready but there is no certainty that I will be fully prepared. All these thoughts are keeping me awake and not even the strongest dream potion can make me forget this and just sleep. I pull my blanket up as pretending to sleep may help convince myself

My night was sleepless and I can barely focus on what I'm doing. the morning was only getting worse as I received a letter explaining that my presence is needed at the Yhoven Court of Mages.

Considering what has been shown to me, this can't be good.

As I get ready for the day, panic runs down my spine as the realisation of what could happen at the court of mages, they never call on basic mages such as I so why call on me now?

Outside, everyone and everything is chaos.

"The gods have failed us!"

"We shall not survive this war!"

"The final war has begun!"

What's happening? Has everyone around me gone mad? There are people being dragged from their homes, one thing in common between each of the citizens being taken away is that they are all mages.

No, no, no this can't be happening! Is this the beginning of what we saw in the future? If so, then I will be gone sooner than I thought.
