All it took was one look, and the world was against you, one glance ruins your life.

One encounter to scar you, and one trial to make you fear.

The morning was dull, and the bird's singing was off key, almost as if it were being choked. On the subway platform was a duo of people- a sandy haired boy, whose hair was messy, his crystal blue eyes stared forward, and his gaze frozen in fear. And a brunette, her curls fell to rest on top of her shoulders, and she was in shock.

The boy felt heat radiating off of his face, and one look could tell you why. The train suddenly pulled its emergency brakes, and he didn't have enough time to cover his face as sparks flew towards it. But instead of pain, the boy's skin around his eyes ignited, a blue white flame sparked to life, and the crowd around him began to panic at the sight of him.

Shouts sounded, and were vaguely familiar to the word "Villain!"

Only the girl was even remotely close to him. "Spencer, you..." she began.

Spencer began to flail at the heat, where he found a nearby window, and he stared into it.

In it, was his reflection, and what stared back at him was absolutely mortifying.

The flame had only engulfed his eyes, which were now only a pitch black set of long diamonds, that seemed to flicker along with the rest of the flame.

"W-What is wrong with me?!" he said as he backed away from the window.

"It's your quirk! It finally manifested." she replied.

"But at what price?" he then felt a pair of arms wrap around him.

"It doesn't matter, I'll be there for you, just as you were for me." She pulled him in closely, and Spencer returned the embrace.

"Thank you for that, I need to hear that right now."
