Spencer immediately felt his heart drop as her heard the creak. "S-Sakura-san..." he began, stuttering and fearful, "T-The bridge..."
His reddish brown haired friend stopped in her tracks, running over to him, she reached over and grabbed his arm with both hands, and she pulled him to his feet. "Don't worry too much, I'll make sure that you won't fall down." Sakura replied.
Spencer nodded, and she dusted his clothes like a doting mother would for her child.
"I am not a kid Sakura-chan, I can take care of myself." he pushed her arm back, and he looked over to her, shooting her a scared glance.
She was silent for a moment, thinking about what she'd say to him, and she sighed. "Fine by me," she began, raising her hands up in defense backing away, "Anyways, if you're afraid that much, then at least let me help you..."
He smiled wryly at her, "Thanks," he looked around at their surroundings, "Let's go," he walked across, "I don't want to be on this bridge any longer than I have to."
She nodded, and she began to walk with him, a hand in his back to reassure him that everything was going to be alright.
For as long as he could remember, Spencer had hydrophobia- the irrational fear of water.
For good reason too, Spencer's quirk made his body much denser than water, and he'd sink if he fell in.
This was something that he had no control over, as his quirk always seemed to be on.
He looked straight ahead at his goal the entire time as they walked, and the bridge creaked again, and Spencer stopped. "It's doing it again..." he managed as he began to hyperventilate, and his body began to shake uncontrollably.
"It's alright Spencer-kun," Sakura began, "We're almost at the end."
Spencer looked up at her, and he swallowed nervously. "Y-Yeah, you're right." Spencer replied confidently, "I am almost there. I-"
"Look who it is," began a new voice, cutting off Spencer's own reply, "It's the Tin Man and his little psychotic friend..."
Spencer tensed up a bit before he cautiously turned his head, and he saw a familiar group of people. "Just what I need... Kaito and his friends. We were almost off too!" Sakura spat out, stepping in front of him, "Know how hard it was to convince Spencer-kun to even step on this bridge?" She pointed a thumb back at him, and Spencer looked away, his face red with embarassment.
Kaito was a student in their grade, and he was one of the people that Spencer hated. Kaito was rather lean, his bright green hair curled down to his sharp jawline. His stormy grey eyes bore into his friend's own eyes. He still wore his school uniform, the blazer was tied around his waist.
He walked around with his two pals, Shiro and Nero, twin brothers.
Shiro was a staple albino- abnormally deathly pale skin, white hair that fell short of his ears, and his eyes were an icy blue, which seemed to be tired all the time. He wore the school uniform.
His twin however was a different story. Nero had dark reddish brown hair that was geled back, his golden brown eyes hid behind a pair of thin-framed glasses, and he was busy staring down at the floor, a phone in his hand.
"Very by your current standings." a computerised voice replied, and Spencer looked up to see that it came from Nero's phone.
Nero barely spoke if at all, and Spencer sighed. Nero was mute, and nobody knew why it was so.
"That's besides the point," Kaito strutted over to the duo, "I heard that there's a little kid vying to get into U.A. High. Any idea who that would be?" Kaito kneeled as he growled this.
Spencer shakily turned his head to the side.
"Well that's too bad, I thought you would know. But that's right- They'd never let you in... So you wouldn't dare." he straightened himself upright.
Spencer bit his lip, and he heard his friend scoff lightly, "Like they'd let you in either Surobaba-san. Not with your actions." Sakura taunted.
Kaito's eyebrow twitched visibly, and and Nero stepped in, grabbing Kaito's wrist, "She's right Kaito," Shiro spoke up, his voice light and cheery, "Your actions aren't very hero-like."
Kaito glared at Nero before he ripped his arm out of his grasp. "Keep your hands off me." was all Kaito offered before he began to walk away.
Shiro and his twin nodded at eachother beforethey walked in the opposite direction.
Sakura sighed. She pulled him to his feet. "Thanks Sakura-chan, but Kaito-kun is right... They won't accept me. My quirk isn't suited for hero work." he kept his stare on the ground as he clenched his fists.
Sakura rested a hand on his back. "Hey," she began, and she used her free hand to rest under his chin, and she forced him to look into her emerald green eyes, "I believe in you. Besides, you shouldn't listen to him, he doesn't know what he's talking about. You're strong Spencer-kun, don't let them get to you." Sakura smiled softly, and she patted his back lightly. Her eyes seened to sparkle, and Soencer found himself smiling.
"Thanks Sakura-chan," he replied, "That... Means a lot to me."
Sakura continued to smile, their gaze keot on the other's, and there was silence for a moment.
Sakura regained her train of thought, removing her hand from his cheek, which somehow managed to creep there. She looked away from him, her cheeks dusted with a soft blush. "You alright?" Spencer asked her.
"Yeah, no worries." came her reply, not facing him. She then turned away from him. "Your mom is waiting." Sakura began to walk forward, and Spencer found himself in utter confusion.
"What just happened?" he thought aloud, raising a hand to his cheek where her hand once rested.
He snapped back to reality, and he ran over to Sakura, who was near the end of the bridge. "Wait up!" he called after her.
Sakura sighed heavily, "Come on Spencer-kun, we don't have all day." Sakura stopped and turned to face him, her arms placed behind her back.
Spencer slowed down when he had reached her. He rested his hands on his knees. "I know," he panted, "Just let me catch my breath alright?"
Sakura nodded. Spencer took a few deep breaths, and he straightened himself. "Sakura-chan," he began, "What was that a minute ago?"
Sakura lowered her eyelids, and her lips pressed into a firm line. She moved her arms to rest on her shoulders. "That's..." she began, her expression serious, "That's something that Oracle also predicted. Let's just forget it happened." Sakura began to twiddle her thumbs, and Spencer nodded.
"Sakura-chan," he ssked seriously, "What exactly is the Oracle personality?"
