I was packing up my bags when I felt a harsh tap on my shoulder.
I turned around to be greeted with my ballet teacher.

I stumbled to my feet "Y-Yes Mam?"
She stepped back "tomorrow you will begin skating again."

I felt my heartbeat race "R-REALLY?" I exclaimed.
She nodded her head giving me a grin.

I squealed quickly packing up my bag and rushing home.
I couldn't wait to tell my mother the news.

I swung open to door to my home slamming it behind me "MOM!"
My mother emerged from kitchen.

"Welcome back, and what's wrong?" She asked worriedly.
"I'm starting skating again tomorrow!" I squealed.

My mom gasped a smile forming on her lips as she ran to me.
"Congratulations, sweetheart!" She exclaimed engulfing me in a hug.

My mother is quite young, she had me when she was 19 and I'm only 15; we get along quite well.
"I need you to wake me up early tomorrow I need to be on time!" I scolded as my mom laughed.

"Of course this is a big deal, sweetheart!" She hugged me again before leading me to the kitchen.
She gave me a salad, which I ate quickly.

It was around 10 pm now so I decided to go to bed excited for the day to come.

The next day

I woke up even more excited than I was before.
I did my morning routine quickly rushing down the stairs.

I was wearing a simple outfit made of leggings a long sleeved crop top, and high Nike socks with slides.
"Ellie~" my mom cooed as she was about to try and make me eat breakfast.

"Mom..." I said back attaching my skates to my bag.
"Ellie you need to eat food, not only will not eating lower your stamina you start school soon and you need to get used to eating in the morning." My mother whined as I stared at the cereal on the counter.

"Fine." I snap as I stand up shoving huge spoonfuls of fruity pebbles in my mouth.
My mother cheers sitting down next to me with a glass of orange juice.

I push the bowl aside walking to my bag.
"I'm off." I say as I walk out.

I'm not late today I'm on time.
When I walk through the door my footsteps grow heavy.

Thoughts like 'what if I can't skate anymore' run through my head as I walk into the skating locker room.
I stood up walking to the ice where my coach waited nearby for me.

"Elizabeth." I heard my name as I turned my head.
My coach was calling me over. I walked over and stood next to him as he talked to me about skating.

He pretty much went over the basics again, I knew everything he was saying so I was quite annoyed when he kept repeating everything over and over.
"Okay now you should be ready, go on try two simple jump." I smiled nodding my head as I finally step foot onto the ice again.

As I glide down I quickly warm up with a simple axel.
After that I do a small flip and make my way back to my coach.

He applauds me as I nod smiling.
"Elizabeth, this year I want you to participate in a competition." My coach says as I nod again.

"Which one?" I politely ask as a smile grows on my coaches face.
"Hmm well maybe I want you to make it to the Grand Prix finals." I feel my stomach turn as I let out a loud sound.

"E-EH?!" I screech as I glide back.
I now know all eyes are me but I could care less.

"W-wait but I've only been skating for 4 years I don't think I'm qualified to be participating in a completion that big." I say as my coach lets out a small laugh.
"Do you not want to?" He asks as I shake my head.

"NO! No.. it's not that I would love to I'm just, nervous?" I scratch my head letting a small sigh escape my lips.
"Then there we have it, you'll be participating this year." He exclaims patting my back.

I feel my stomach turn in excitement and nervousness.

'I'm going to the Grand Prix finals' I think to myself a small smile forming on my lips.
